The Best Western Hotel Spaander is located in a prime position in Volendam on the banks of the IJsselmeer. This historical hotel dating back to 1881 has a truly authentic Dutch feel to it. Each of the 79 luxurious bedrooms have been uniquely decorated and feature authentic Dutch decor. The food is as usual superb, and now with the restaurant Catherine on the corner ( affiliated to the Hotel) you have more than the usual two choices of places to eat. The staff are their normal smiling selves. We have been coming here on & off for 30 Years and there have been changes, mainly for the good but please see below. Somebody please teach the breakfast chef how to make bacon crispy without burning it to a cinder (5 days 2 breakfasts 2 complaints). It would have been nice to have been given advance warning of the one way system in place now, I arrived at Noordeinde 2 minutes late and had to wait for 1/2 hour for the barrier to drop. Not best pleased.

Comfortable rooms, nice view and friendly staff! Confusing how to drive to the hotel- our gps directed us to pedestrian only streets-we had to park far away & walk to hotel to be told we could only drive to hotel on the half hour and leave the hotel on the hour.

It is located in a very nice place, just in front of the sea, in a pedestrian zone riches of shops and restaurants. You can easily go in Amsterdam by public transport. It has a very nice swimming pool and three different kinds of sauna. The rooms are spacious and typical sea furnished. I suggest this place also because it is really close to a no traffic zone along the sea ideal for running.

We liked our room which faced the lake. It was really nice to wake up in the morning. Our balcony got good sun for a while and we were able to relax and read our books out there. Plenty of choice for breakfast buffet.

Me ha encantado el Hotel, es acogedor, muy calido, impecable, el estilo es unico, la decoración de la epoca lo hace más especial, la comida del restaurante es delicioso,la vista al mar es increible por la tarde y la gente es muy cordial y simpatica. Que no tengan un servicio mas comodo para el aeropuerto, los buses o algo que nos permita ir al Centro de Amsterdam, pero coordinado con el Hotel.

De ligging van het hotel De grootte en inrichting van de kamer ; oud en klein. Rookmelders vlak voor de badkamerdeur is niet echt handig. Zelfs na een douche met deur dicht ga (nadat de deur al ruim 2 min. openstond !!!) het alarm alsnog af ! Erg vervelend en volledig onnodig. Medewerkers vond ik niet echt vriendelijk. De manier van te woord staan gaf mij niet echt een prettig gevoel (een beetje "daar heb je weer zo'n vervelende gast" gevoel).

Localização,conforto e a belíssima vista para o lago. O hotel já e' por si só um ponto turístico. Café da manha caro (14,90 euros p/ pessoa ) e quando chegamos ainda faltando 20 minutos para o termino do horario de café, não havia reposição de nenhum item já esgotado, alem de termos sido pessimamente atendidos com a funcionaria olhando no relógio a cada minuto pra saber se iríamos terminar dentro do horario.

De ligging in het centrum. Brasserie Catrien wat deel uitmaakt van Spaander. Bediening ook hier van (volendamse) medewerkers was juist weer heel prettig en helemaal niet nors. De badkamer is klein, kan amper op de wc zitten, douchewater stroomt door de hele badkamer. Aan de achterkant slapen is heel gehorig en onrustig met alle komende en vertrekkende busreizende buitenlandse gasten. Internet ontvangst is niet bij lange na niet gegarandeerd. Maar heel even ontvangst en verder niet meer. Het ontbijt is te duur naar verhouding van wat er geboden wordt aan keuze en aan kwaliteit. De af en toe wat norse benadering van de (volendamse) medewerker(s) in het hotel.

Das Personal freundlich, aufmerksam aber nie aufdringlich. Die Zimmer und das Hotel sauber und gepflegt. WLAN in wirklich guter Qualität und kostenfrei. Die Lage direkt am IJsselmeer und doch zentral in Volendam. Und zum Abschied gab's einen Coffee-To-Go bzw. eine Limo-To-Go für den Junior. Es hat alles gepasst und wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
