As a Snr. Business Analyst I live in hotels, this review comes to you from the Hilton, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires. The staff at Citizen M are excellent, hats off to the red headed Namibian guy, the rooms are not for sharing, they're all identical pods with an open plan semiopaque toilet with absolutely no privacy, especially the so-called Garden View rooms where you'll find yourself waving to the tenants in the apartment block opposite, sure they all enjoyed seeing me shower when i forgot to close the shades one evening, the bed's large. There's no where to hang your clothes, if you've more than 2 items, and only one drawer. It's very much a Geek hotel where the occupants hang onto their computers more than their spouses and significant others, internet and foyer business facilities are excellent. Good snack food on tap, we extended our stay, my team are mostly Geeks.Business facilities are excellent, internet is too. The rooms are tiny and cold, no matter what they tell you there's almost no heating, it seemingly comes through the walls but actually it doesn't. My team complained daily about the low temperatures in their rooms and the foyer too, 23 deg, my arse! We tested it,18 and colder at night, someone needs to get their act together pronto on that score. I extended our stay because the team liked the business facilities, they're Geeks, and because of the staff are ever helpfull, so it isn't all bad. Sort out the automatic check-in. It doesn't work! The staff finish up checking people in to lessen the queues. The location is OK, but beware, the trams are full to overflowing on the weekends and taxis to and fro Dam Sq. cost a small fortune. Parking is expensive outside the hotel, except Sunday, and it'll take you over an hour to check in and out of the cheaper Olympic car park, half a mile away. The Metro is close by and a better alternative once you figure out the payment method.

Modern and clean. Very nice bed. Everything controlled by a remote and the remote didn't always work which was frustrating. Room was cold even though I raised the temperature on the remote.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a different type of hotel experience and seeing how the rooms are designed was interesting. Free internet and computers to access it on. Very close to train station - easy to get to from airport. The design of the rooms is very efficient but there's no privacy, they're not for shy people. If you're a couple, you will know the other person intimately by the end of your stay! Although the hotel is very close to a tram (efficient service) it is that little bit out from the city, so not really a place to stay if you like to explore and then wander back to the hotel more than once during the day.

Very unusual hotel. Design, concept and interior is smth. Special. Lights in the room can be changed. Enormous bad for all your dreams ;-). Free selectin of movies and adult chanels. Wireless management of the room facilities. Check in is done via electronic terminal, same as check- out. Should be very quick and intuitive. Not comfortable. In our room there was basically no storage place (wardrobe or drawers). Open access to toilet and shower are quite unusual and not really convenient. I also managed to break down the terminal during check-in and had to do this procedure twice. No parking. It was too cold in the room though we changed the settings of the airconditioner.

Very trendy hotel with a decent location if you wanna stay out of the city centre- 15 min tram ride to the museums and 5 min more to the shopping district etc. There is also a 24 hr bar serving booz, coffee, snacks and food on the well designed bottom floor. Friendly staff. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone over 40. I can just imagine my parents fumbling over the remote (which controls the entire rooms amenities) trying to switch on the tv, but instead turning off the lights! There is also very little water pressure in shower. Rooms a bit small if your'e traveling as a couple.

-One of the most comfortable, high-tech hotel we have ever stayed. The staffs are super friendly and speak fluent English. When we arrived we asked to find our name on computer and chose our room, etc, and it asked us to pay with our credit card, however since we Have already changed our money we told to one of the hotel's staff that we would like to pay in cash but he said no, the hotel won't accept cash money, so we insist and he said I have to check with my manager and he offered us two drinks (on the house) till he sort out the payment. It didn't take him long to sort out the issue. -It is 15 mins far from central part of Amsterdam, however the tram and bus station is in 2 mins walk from hotel. -There are shed loads of free movies available on TV. -If you are coming from Schiphol Airport it takes you 15 or less mins (with train) to the Zuid station and from there the hotel is 7 mins away (walking).

The Room was amazing and the staff were very very helpful. Very accomodating. No closet space as the room is already small as it is.. Needed to put clothes away especially when you have to fit suitcase in corner. The temperature of the room was a problem at times because the thermostat didn't work properly.

Excellent localization, 5 minutes from the Amsterdam Zuid train station and less than 5 minutes from the train #5 stop, that takes you to the City downtown passing through various tourist attractions like Van Gogh Museum. The room is really small; there is no place to put your luggage. You should handle them over the bed or on the floor, but it is really practical with a very nice and comfortable bed and an excellent shower. There are computers available at the lobby to access internet and check emails for free. This is for sure a plus. I considered that the breakfast is expensive based on what they provided.

Design room. Enormous sumptuous bed with great linen. Perfect location, very easy to reach - 10 minutes walk from Zuid train station which is 10 mins from airport. Tram 5 stop round the corner which run every 7 mins into city centre. Lovely Beatrix Park 5 mins walk away. Great for sunbathing, picnicking, chilling on river bank on hot day unlike Vondelpark which becomes so packed you cant find a spot.

Very sexy employees! I thought I was booking the Citizen M at Schiphol, it was not very clear that this was not the case. Travelling to Amsterdam South is not a big deal but that was not what I wanted to do.

Coolest Hotel so far. Entering the hotel is like beeing welcommed home for the "mobile citizen" or alternatively like entring the facility to take you on the continued jurney of you life. Well balanced space for personal as well as common activities. I would recommend anyone I know to join the citizenMship

The remote control that operates tv, shades, airconditioning and light is very cool. Also the lights in the toilet and shower are a real plus to the room. The toilet and shower are not really private but that's ok for just a few nights, but only when you're there with you partner, if I would book a hotel with just a friend, I wouldnt book this room. The computers in the lobby are supposed to make the 'check-in' easier and faster. But the computer didn't regonize my name so a real person had to help anyway. It looks cool, but when computers don't work, it's laim. I also saw a lot of people having trouble while checking in. I also missed the warm, personal touch when checking out. There was no staff member that said: "thank you for your staying, have a nice trip home." It was just the computer in stead.

Very Modern hotel, the design is perfect! Hotel staffs friendly and love their job. The detailing is just impressive, and Is penetrated into every corners of the hotel, on entrance carpet; on toilet doors; directing signs. Location is very quite but convenient. Free wifi and very fast. iMac available to use and printing is free of charge. Room is a bit cold, no restaurant although 24h canteen is sufficient.
