Location Very expensive hotel, compare to my stay always in Krasnapolsky Hotel in the Dam Sq. No view at all ! as I was in a suite but still no view, the room was 100 eu more then the executive room in Krasnapolsky that over look the Dam Sq and a five stars hotel, hospitality was very bad when we checked in, the hotel is very very old and needs renvation, elvators one is working sometimes the other is not !! no air-condition in that expensive room !!! no mini bar in the suite !! not even an empty fridge, I don't think I can recommend this hotel to any one as long as it stays as it is, knowing that I have business in Belgium and Amsterdam and come at least a week every month and stayed in most of the hotels in Amsterdam !!

The location is perfect (5 minutes to Dam) and personnel is very friendly. The brasserie is also a nice place where passing the evening if you don't want to go out. Rooms are nice. The bathroom is too small. The reason is that the buildings are very old, hence the room size in average is small. But this was a minor point.

Location is just perfect. 50 mt to the Dam Square It's listed as a 4 star hotel but in my opinion it's worst than some hostels that I stayed in. There was no minibar, air-condition not working, there was a 4 cm gap between the flor and the bathroom door. Well, it was my 3rd visit to Amsterdam, general conditions and price/performance of Amsterdam otels is not very good.

Nice hotel close to city centre. We stayed for 5 days in there but Laundry ( bed linen) was changed in the 4 th day only. Think it should be done every second day instead.

I have stayed and dined many times at the hotel for previous business trips and have found it to have an excellent location for visiting Amsterdam and comfortable. After recommending to my family and friends who were with me that your food and dining experince was worth trying, I was let down very much by Monique who served our meal at the large table in the bar. We all ordred dutch pea soup (at my recommendation) however Monique displayed her disapproval and said she would not order the soup as it would spoil our main course as Monique advised the soup was not meant to be followed by a main course!!! I then decided to take her advice, so the 6 soup were taken off the order. My father and I ordered steak medium to well done, she then decided to order a rare steak as she said thats how it should be! Unbelievably, Monique then took my fork & knife, and cut my steak showing me how to cut it her way! She did the same to my fathers steak. By then, the blood from my med - well done steak was all over the plate. I handed it back and asked het o get it cooked again - it came back still with blood. She realised we were angry and said if we had dessert it would be free. I told her that I would be having dessert as I had not had anything to eat yet!! I can assure you now that I took all day yesterday looking at other option for hotels to stay during my regular trips to amsterdam as I was embarrassed by Monique and am amazed that you allow her to conduct herself this way in your restaurant. I should let you know, in my position as a hotel owner, and in the catering business myself - I do know how to order and cut steaks and perhaps you should remove the soup from your menu if it is not to be followed by a main course?!

Virtually nothing except location. This is not a four star. Three at best. Extremely small room. Amenities nonexistent. Wireless didn't work. Elevators very slow. Tv channels limited. Staff at best tolerant of guests. Would not recommend and will not return.

Nothing at all, very bad !!!!! Room is very bad smell of drainage water toilet & vasin. It was neglected with the blind of a window broken. The leak was intense while the shower hose of the bathroom was damaged. Indoors, there was the strong smell of the sewer. All the towels in the room were stinking. Although it has been the 3rd stay since 2004, the quality of this hotel has fallen considerably. This hotel is not used any longer for us.

“This hotel is a low key user friendly place. The rooms are unusually large. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. There is a generally comfortable vibe here that is an extension of the attitude of Amsterdam itself. We had two rooms as there were five of us. The views of the canals and street scenes were great. The beds were firm and supportive. The rooms were immaculate. It's not a fancy place but it has everything we need. If we are lucky enough to return to Amsterdam, there is no doubt we well stay here again.” Eugene, Franklin |
