Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam    

The Conservatorium is just the best of the best. The service they provide goes way above and beyond the call of duty. The fabulously luxurious appointments of the hotel and restaurants are peerless. I was even more impressed and moved by the kindness and real helpfulness of every person in every capacity.

Great hotel; large room; very well equipped; welcoming and efficient staff; fabulous location; wonderful fusion of old building and modern renovation

Food in the restaurant not that great (particularly breakfast which is not good value for money), we had to send back a dish which was served cold; the pool is used as a health club for external members and so our kids couldn't swim in it when they wanted to.

The service was outstanding - staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgable and really went out of their way. The building itself is spectacular - the architectural design and merging of old and new to create a dynamic lifestyle experience with the comfort of the new and the charm and character of the old. The hotel is its own little idealized universe with good food, fabulous shops and a beautiful spa/pool/gym that offers yoga, pilates and other exercise classes daily. I couldn't recommend the conservatorium more for a pleasure or business stay.

Its actually a challenge to come up with anything megative. My only small criticism is that in the closet design (which is generous in terms of space), one has to close one closet to open the other. It would be helpful to have hooks on the mirrors when one enters the room, so have option of hanging coats there instead of wrestling with the sliding closet doors.

Duplex rooms faced courtyard - a bit claustrophobic - for that price need fresh air from outside Brasseries and bar staff all over the place - need attention to detail and more efficient. Smoking lounge in bar needs stronger air-conditioning

I read about this hotel from Wall Paper. As a close follower of the publication, as well as being obsessed with design hotels, when Wall Paper rates it as one of the best new location in 2012, it became my primer task to check it out, hence, when the opportunity came, I checked into this hotel without a heart beat. I think for all the design hotel magnets, it has all the right elements: old music school converted into modern design hotel, all the designer furnitures and culinary, good variety of gins, and a hotel bar that is packed with even locals. What impressed me was the material that has been used in and out (at least for the duplex room): bath room doors with heavy stone material, freestanding flat cinema-alike tv, the power coated glossy sliding doors for the wardrobe, and of course a mini bar full of goodies. It is actually a good deal for money in comparison of what they are offering. Service was no doubt excellent, all staff have great common sense (as easy as it sounds, but quite difficult to manage), the rest is the same old: polite and helpful. It's located at the museum square area, and next to all the fancy shops. (Pch street) Strongly recommend trying both restaurants, and as for myself: the spa next time!

False fire alarm was my 'wake up' call, but oh well...

The old building has been transformed into a modern comfortable hotel without losing the original details. Beautiful big bathroom, great shower. The staff is really great; helpful, cheerful, everything runs smoothly. The bar in the lobby is attracting the hip Amsterdam crowd, without being crowded or too busy. If you want to live Amsterdam in the middle of old and modern history, you must stay here. All major Musea are literally around the corner!

The installations can be noisy during the night and the wardrobe was placed a bit odd in the room; you had to curl yourself around the writing desk to get your clothes.

Old building meets design...the architect made such a great job! Bistor and Tunes Restaurant great atmosphere...lots of candles all over! Our deluxe room had a huge wellness bathroom!

Staff knowledge of the area was excellent and they where falling over themselves to help. Excellent facilities, room, restaurent (make anything even if not on the menu), Spa all 1st class.

A hotel within a historical building in the center of Amsterdam. Exceptional sevice for a hotel at least for Dutch standards.

We were in a split level room. The telephone is only on the upper level. The coffeemaker is on the lower level and the water is upstairs. No minibar. All the steps on the upper level make it tricky to manoever in the dark.

The Hotel welcome was warm, professional and stylish. The lobby is stunning and together with attentive staff, a fantastic place to relax and plan the day or evening.

We stayed at Conservatorium for the new year I can say that being at this hotel made of this stay an excellent vacation.The hotel is a perfect mixture of old renovated architecture and an ulra-modern structures making this hotel so amusing and turns the lobby itself a historical visit of amsterdam as its centered between the 2 different style of buildings. We booked a duplex room and both floors were warm and perfectly heated. The staff is very helpful and welcoming and the moment you check-in you will notice the warm welcoming and professionalism of each one of them.Special Thanks to Peter, David and Anna who assisted and recommended the best places to visit.Location is great and walking distance to all attractions and shopping streets.I will definitely come back to this hotel and highly recommend it to every visitor to amsterdam.

I only think that the breakfast could be included in the price, and the Spa services like massage are highly rated.

An amazing architecture mixing old and new in a perfect way. The usage of the space is commendable. Such a charming old building, comfortable and cozy. The food at the hotel's restaurants is very good.

Beautiful decorated Hotel, good location, friendly staff

Very poor value for money. We paid Eur 380 for the smallest room I ever seen, I guess approx 16m2 but the small queen sized bed was the worst part, very hard and the pillows way too soft. Also the Hotel lobby and Hotel bar was full with non-hotel guest, so we had no table to sit and relax as hotel guest on Saturday night.

Fantastic disign, it is absolutely unic place. Each thing in this hotel is full of disign. It impregnate by design.

renovation of a music conservatorium, very cutting edge modern design within a beautiful original building. Good staff very attentive and effiicient, personal despite its size. Fantastic gym. Beautiful pool. Restaurant looked nice but didnt have time to try it. Proximity to galleries.
