The location is great that is it. The staff were not very friendly, just seemed to want to take your money and be done with you.

The hotel is complete mess, the staff unfriendly, unwilling to assist or even say Hello. The room was terrible small. The window was secured with a screw-diver and we had to keep it open the whole time because of the really bad bad smell coming from a vegetarian restaurant next doors. Behind the window was an outside staircase so it looked like somebody can come in (makes you wonder if that screwdiver will stop him from entering). The Bed was bad, really small for two people, smaller then a queen sized bed and was really really soft (in a bad way). The floors and stairs were wooden and old, you could hear people walking two floors above you, there were no sound privacy at all. You could hear the TV from the reception or people talking downstairs the whole night, didn't slept a bit. Always felt somebody is walking in the small room, but it wasn't. Worst 100euro spent ever. Avoid at all cost!

One of hotel reception was frendly and good manner. Hotel locatin is too close to the main street and it was always noisy. No extra power outlet was there, I have to use it exclusively with TV.

its location is central to all attractions too noisy as walls and floors were thin and I could hear guests tramping up and down the stairs at all hours of the night and early hours of the morning.

Central Location. The Hotel was horrible! really small room, dont have a lift and I had to walk many small stairs to get to the room. The staff wasn't polite. They even charge 5% if we pay with credit card! And at the end they not even let me keep my bag for 3 hours after a 10 am (early) check in!

The hotel receptionist was friendly, well the one we got was. The bedroom was small and the bed was filthy, but the bed sheets were clean, and the bathroom was clean too, but not brilliant, we also found a mouse trap under the bed. (Nothing in it i'm pleased to say) lots of linen on the top of the stairs which was hard to get up with to start with cos the steps was so narrow and it was even hard to walk up them with luggage, The hotel was very loud all night people was coming and going and banging doors all night etc but I was to be expected I suppose due the the location of the hotel and it been in Amsterdam. I wouldn't recommend it, but we only stayed one night, if it would have been for any longer then i wouldn't have stayed, i would have found some where else it also wasn't cheap either cost us nearly £70.00 for the night.

Shower was good, bathroom was clean. Excellent location, 2 minute walk from main train station, 5 minutes from red light district, shopping area right behind hotel and 5 minutes to Dam Square. Staff was extremely rude to us and he shouted at us when we asked if we could leave our bags at reception after checking out. Lots of stairs in the hotel. Room was small and bed was uncomfortable. Tv was small and angle of it meant you couldn't see the screen properly when sitting in bed. At night time there were drug dealers or people begging for money literally in the door way of the hotel. Had to ask them to move out the way to enter the door!

I liked that it is nicely situated. Everything is reachable without a big effort from Hotel Continental. We could hardly sleep because we could hear everything people were saying in the room right next to us. It seemed like the walls were literally made out of paper...

The location was good because we got in late into the train station and the hotel is only five minutes walk from the station I had read other reviews before going and i'm sorry I didn't pay attention to them as they were correct. Our rooms were at the fourth floor of very steep staircases; there was a very off-putting smell of sewage and the water pressure in the shower went from terrible to non existent, I understood that getting a place that is so central will be noisy and expensive but this hotel was smelly, difficult to access and didn't even have enough water to have a two minute shower

The hotel said a twin room, but instead we got a box room with bunk beds! Please! And the price charged was ridiculous for the poor room we received! Will not stay here again!

The Hotel have perfect location, but I think there's no more good things. The first room we were(2 of us) was quite small, it was just place for bed in it, and you could see just piece of floor. When we change it, because of single beds, the other room was in width like 1,5m. For prize 560 for 6 nights I think it is not enough at all. There's no space in the room, just what you can do is go sleep. You can find better hotel for this money. I would love to sand some real pictures of this hotel !!! If I would pay like 100-150 less, everything make sens to me. Cheap hotel - modest room.

Almost everything. I am a very widely travelled person as an international airline pilot. This was the worst hotel I have ever had te displeasure to stay in. The room wasn't even big enough to open my suitcase anywhere but on the bed, and it was a double room. For 100+ Euros I expect better, There was certainly better around for that price.

To be honest I did not like anything about the hotel. It was the only one thing I did not enjoy in Amsterdam. The Staff was rude and unhelpful. The room was ridiculously small and the double bed looked like single. It was explained properly what the city tax is and why we need to pay it. The fact that I was charged for using my credit card is outrageous! I would not recceomend your hotel to anyone!
