Set in a 400-year old listed building, this bed and breakfast offers bright rooms with free Wi-Fi. Guests can read a book in the living room which has a fireplace, library area, a DVD player and a large dining table. The whole bed and breakfast is at your disposal if booking both rooms. The rooms include box-spring beds and a seating area with a flat-screen TV. All have a modern bathroom with a hairdryer, and heated towel rails. One of the rooms offers a view of the 12th-century St. Piter Church. Boat hire and bike rental are available at De Thuiskamer. It is also possible to book sailing lessons. A picnic basket packed with a healthy lunch can be prepared on request. A freshly made breakfast, including home-made jams and local Friesland specialities, is served every morning. Guests can also enjoy a glass of wine from the special wine-menu by the fire or on the terrace in the summer. Leeuwarden is just 15 km from de Thuiskamer. Heerenveen and Sneek are about 20 km away. Very warm welcome from owner. Excellent breakfast and beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the small town's carnival was taking place and made access to the property difficult and we had a very noisy night disturbed by loud music until the early hours of the morning! We would check if this was happening before staying there again.

Het geslaagd zijn in het waarmaken van de naam van dit verblijf. Het was echt een Thuiskamer, zowel de slaapkamer als de "woon'- en eetkamer beneden.

Prima ontvangst. Zeer compleet. Rustige omgeving, ondanks het feit dat het midden in Grou gelegen is. Zeer klein verbeterpuntje zijn de handdoeken. Een gastendoekje is wat aan de kleine kant. De douch-handdoek was wel voldoende.

Goede service, mooie badkamer, alles goed onderhouden en ingericht, leuk Fries ontbijt Het ligt pal tegenover de kerk: tijdens ons verblijf was de klokkenluider elk half uur actief, óók 's nachts! Hierdoor heb ik amper kunnen slapen (ondanks mijn oordoppen).

Gastvrijheid van de gastvrouw was buitengewoon. Ongedwongen sfeer. Nette kamers en goede bedden. Leuke ligging midden in het dorp. Ontbijt was erg lekker en uitgebreid. Verse muntthee uit eigen kruidentuintje.
