We have been previously in this hotel for many years, mainly around Christmas time. Before, we used to enjoy the special atmosphere, excellent breakfast, good rooms. This time, only location, the breakfast. Unfortunately , this year we were dissapointed with the room ( small, dark, more like a single room), service was not at the level we were used to in this hotel( except the doorman, always helping with the car parking, which may be a problem given its small size).

the facility and the location was good but.. Almost all the staff was poor. They don't understand what the service is. I asked the hotel to prepare the baby bed in advance. But they had not prepared it and told us that they would do it immediately. However, the bed they prepared was without sheets! just mattress! I called the room service to ask for a sheet. The initial answer was "house keeping is very busy"...Depressing answer. Still i asked again cause it was the time for my baby to sleep. Then house keeping finally came to our room with unwashed severely wrinkled sheet! Of course, I gave that up. A lot of such story happend unfortunately. Restaurant staff didn't come for 10 or 15 min even after we asked for wine list or butter of bread... The two room was prepared quite located separatedly with the reason "fully booked today"...I never use that hotel again. Too poor to enjoy.

The location was excellent and the hotel is beautifully idiosyncratic. The service was excellent and the rooms were very well appointed. Everything was an extra - and an expensive extra too - breakfast at 32.50 Euros per person, car parking at 35 Euros per night and use of Wifi at 19 Euros per 24 hours or 10 Euros per hour, are very steep prices for an already expensive hotel. I was aware of teh prices before paying them but was surprised just the same at how much more expensive these things are at this hotel!

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the facilities were immaculate, charming, but with beautiful modern touches, and we got a great deal on an (upgraded) room as it must have been a slow period for traveling. We were expecting the bar/lounge area to be a bit more exciting during bar hours, but the ambiance was more, well, quiet hotel lobby and not really worth hanging around instead of just going back up to the room.

The location was excellent for visiting shops and museums and also for the tram to Scheveningen. The room and bathroom were luxurious. If you want proper luxury and attentive staff, this is the right place to come. We had breakfast both mornings and afternoon tea one day, and the staff remembered our preferences. Extras were very expensive - always the same in this type of hotel and sometimes you just want a couple of biscuits for free in the room (like you get in a friendly B&B). But for what it is, this was an excellent hotel.

An impressive heritage hotel with recently refurbed gwnerous rooms that keep the heritage character with the mod cons. Paying a very high rate for wireless connection- around 15euro for 24hrs where most hotels are providing this as part of basic service

Very beautiful building and location, nice atmosphere. We were disappointed with the level of service for a 5 star hotel. The parking lot in front of the hotel was full, they did not have a valet service so we had to go park our car at a city garage. In the evening the doors of the hotel were locked and we had to call with the intercom to be let in, but we had to wait quite a while in the cold outside. When we asked if they had any aspirine or headache relief medicine, that was not available.

The staff at Des Indes are just superb. Very professional and yet very personal. The location is briljant. And as a regular traveller a very important point: the beds are just the best in the world!

Excellent situation near the center, very nice bar and restaurant. Rooms were great, very spacious as well, but I found the room quiet "dark", even if you turn all the lights on that wouldn't help, maybe it was just an impression as the weather was awful and there was no sun at all during that weekend...

The nice touches when we got back to the hotel late in the evening......nice soft music, some nice (special blend for the hotel) tea and information about the weather of the day to come. A very nice Hotel, nothing big to complain about. I thought the shower was a bit meager (The big rainshower head didn't do it for me). The temperature regulation seemed to be faulty/difficult to set the right temperature (room 337). And if you wanted to use the small shower head you had hold it in your hand and couln't clamp it to the wall.

The food in the restaurant was good. Considering the price, the room was small. And it was cold. To charge 19 Euros per day for internet access is ludicrous for a hotel this expensive. Perhaps they should also charge for hot water.

This hotel is luxurious in every way. The room I was staying in was spacious and had a coffee machine inside. The shower had a rain temple which was great and the floor was heated. Breakfast was amazing and the staff will look after you and are very helpful.
