Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel    

Loved the location and the Bedroom, this is our second year returning to this hotel and we will use this for all of our future visits

The room was clean large and comfortable. The staff was very nice and always helpful.

I very much liked the hotel location mid-way between Leiden Place and Mundt Place. I also liked to on the Princes Canal. Last but not least the hotel restaurant is very good and moderately priced.

Potentially noisy as the rooms, though nice, are rather small and the hotel is quite old though well refurbished,

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were really good and most helpful. The area was good with all facilities close by.

They upgraded us to the Penthouse suite, which had floor to ceiling glass with an amazing view of the city. The bathroom was clean and had a nice claw-foot tub. The building had an elevator, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Location is very good within reach of museums and bus 197 to airport. Our room was excellent and staff helpful.

The stairs to room 409 was a bit onerous.

Friendly efficient at arrival. Practical, central location for tourism, shopping etc. clean, spacious rooms. Excellent restaurant. Excellent value for money.

You hear and feel the trams in your room....if you cannot handle that, better go elsewhere.

Staff very unhelpful, we had 10 different reception staff in over 3 days who were all just office staff rather than professional hotel receptionists. The noise of the location was trams, gangs of late night people chanting, litter everywhere. The restaurant was not linked to the hotel and the staff were rude. The heating was not sufficient. The decor was old and dirty - it was more 3 star than 4 star The clientel because of the noise should be backpackers.

Comfortable

Extremely good location, which is though not in a very city centre, but this is even better, because every walk to a centre is a pleasant journey. Moreover, the hotel is situated in 1 minute vicinity from airport shuttles. Also, there are nice large rooms with the canal view.

Extremely poor wi-fi with lagging speed and limited capacity. Also, guests are required to hand keys to the reception upon leaving hotel, and do not usually ask whether is it the hotel guest who collect keys back (I mean when the shift changes and you ask for the keys unknwn staff member). This made me feel very insecure regarding the belongings I left in a room.

It's location is excellent, off the main street car line and canal, and off a main square with plenty of activity and restaurants. Food is excellent, their restaurant once had a 2 star Michilin guide rating. Large rooms and modern bathrooms, very clean. Excellent Hotel!

It is in the middle of the city

If you compare it to other hotels it should be 3 star and not 4 star

Room was excellent. My wife enjoyed the spacious bath. Close to all of old town Amsterdam.
