The location of this hotel was fantastic.....it was exactly where we needed to be for the weekend with all the shopping within a very short walking distance. There is a wide variety of restaurant within minutes to suit any taste or budget. The breakfast had lots of choice and was awesome... The size of the room was very small. The bathroom needs to be renovated. If you compare these small complaints to the location and price they fade into the background.

Great ambience, modern, large rooms in oldstyle boutique hotel. Breakfast didn't change over the 6 days we were here. Would have been nice to have something different.

We booked a room with a kitchenette so we could save money by cooking our own lunch and breakfast. But the hot plates were not plugged in and I had to pull out the fridge to get it working. One knob was broken and it took way too long to heat up the hot plates and one did not even get hot enough to boil the kettle for water. So we ended up having to eat out which costs us extra money that we could not really afford.

Centrally located for the city. Clean and friendly staff Perhaps the fact that it did not offer restaurant was not good so had to eat out in the evening.

The location was excellent to be in the center of Maastricht close to shopping, the University of Maastricht, the open air market and many, many restaurants. The hotel staff were wonderfully helpful, kind and efficient with whatever might be asked of them. I felt right at home and comfortable and safe as a woman traveling and staying there on my own. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were clean, but old. The hotel could use an update on their decor.

Convenient for what we were looking for in location and needs. Maastricht is a great place for shopping although a little expensive. Plenty to see and do - loads of history. A very lovely city, well worth a visit. There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel it was quite comfortable and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We liked the quiet, art-deco room, the helpful staff, and the very secure free parking very near to the hotel. A good breakfast too. Located just off the main square, within easy walking distance of various interesting churches.

Good location Old, outdated facility, dirty room, spots on carpets, worn furniture and decor dating back to the 60'S. Washroom was dirty. Location on the main square is good but nearby restaurant and bar patrons keep you awake till 3am shouting and generally being very loud. Lots of traffic noise. Hotel is at best a 2 star hotel. Breakfast for 15 euro's per person is outright awful. This was supposed to be a deluxe room. I hate to think what a standard one looks like.

Free wi-fi access, central position, professional staff Even though the bed is clean, the room seems not. Bath towels not with proper "clean smell". Expensive breackfast buffet (12€ !!) for the real offer (you eat less than for 7-8€ in any cafe...).It is a 4 stars hotel only for offered services, especially staff based, not for the rooms themselves.

Great staff and location The bathrooms are old and smell bad - since there are no proper doors, the smell spreads into the room.

Friendly personnel, good spot for my car to park behind the hotel, really central to Vrijthof and City Centre Very old awfully designed rooms. Made you feel being back in the Sixties or Seventies. Too ugly and oldfashioned for the price (177 euro incl. Parking) paid. Shower curtain needed to be replaced, room ready for a complete renovation!

Location, location, location. That's about all I can say in the positive. This is not a 4 star hotel. No way. I have stayed at so many hotels in the last 3 years, and this is not a 4 star by any means. The bathroom needed repairs, behind our curtains in the room, the wall was molded and falling apart. The carpet dirty and stained. The furnishings very outdated, ie. Old tube tv, old linens, rough and hard bed., Old everything! I am sorry I took our friends there, as their first trip to maastricht! We rented 4 rooms! Breakfast was crap! Imagine powdered eggs!! Why bother?? Internet was not free either, and that is becoming almost a standard thing in 4-5 star hotels. The lift is small and ancient. The lobby is small and old too. No locked luggage room.

All staff made this a very pleasant stay, and proximity to Vrijthof where Anre Rieu concerts were being held, was ideal. Wealth of restaurants and shopping facilities very close by. The standard room itself was comfortable for the time we spent in it, however, the seperate toilet was very cramped and the wash/shower room extremely compact.
