The hotel was spotlessly clean, quiet and safe. Its location is terrific, opening onto an extensive pedestrian shopping district with plenty of stores, supermarkets, restaurants and more. Free parking was no problem. The staff was not enthusiastic, but they were very helpful. If you want the beach, the city life of Amsterdam or any one of a handful of lovely Dutch towns, they're just a 20-minute drive away. Of course...our stay was not during the tulip season, when I'll bet it's madness there! The breakfast was only OK...not bad, but not great, either. Just adequate.

Stayed at Hotel de Duif for three nights - 21st to 24th April - to visit the Keukenhof gardens. Location was excellent - just a short walk away. Lots of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Bedroom was small but the beds very comfortable. Cold buffet breakfast with plenty to choose from. Receptionist covers the small bar also and was extremely pleasant; gave us lots of information about the area and helped us plan our days with travel information etc. Hotel has a small homely feel to it, unlike some of the bigger chains. Thank you for a lovely stay! Couldn't fault the hotel at all.

The location. In the town of Lisse and very close to Keukenhof gardens. No lift, breakfast service was poor, they kept running out of food. The tables were not relaid quickly enough for the diners to re-use.

Perfect location, only a lovely 10 minute walk to the Keukenhof, and about 1/2 hour drive to Amsterdam. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds are quite comfortable. The price was fair for the value. Poorly designed shower (water goes everywhere), hair dryer doesn't really work and the smell of cigarettes might bother some guests with allergies. Housekeeping didn't really "keep house". The breakfast was rather skimpy. We would stay here again, but I'd look for an alternative first.

Our stay was fantastic. It is a great place, convenient, good shopping and restaurants nearby. The staff was helpful and courteous. We could not ask for anything better. Rooms were clean and spacious. We stayed here 21 years ago and loved it then but enjoyed our stay this time even more. Breakfast was great. Clean, neat.

The choice for breakfast was limited. On Sunday morning we went down to eat at 9.15 am (breakfast is served until 10.00am) there were lots of dirty dishes on tables, no clean cups for tea/coffee, no clean glasses for juice and not very much food available! The food was not being replenished at all so for all the people that arrived after us and us included there was hardly anything to eat.

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. It is not a full service hotel and our room was very small in size for 2 people. We could not move around at the same time. The bathroom was totally inadequate (sewer smell for the first 2 days) and too small to turn around in. Telephone service was not available and the payphone was out of order for our entire stay, but did take my money anyway.

Helpful staff for local sightseeing and public transport information. Location of the hotel is convenient. Sign of the hotel should also be placed in the entrance street, in particular the alphabet 49.

The staff were extremely helpful. The general areas of the hotel were good. The location to the gardens at Kerkenhof was excellent the room we had was very small- much smaller than a travel lodge in the uK but I felt it was expensive at 129 euros for one night B & B.

Even considering it was Easter this was incredibly overpriced for the facilities. I I cannot say much that was good about this place other than it was available in the right location. I would not choose to stay there again. The room was smelly and the carpets stained. Toilet stained and dirty and the whole place needed a good clean. The kitchen had no microwave/oven and no dishwasher. For 380 Euros for two nights I expect luxery from a suite, not feeling like I was staying in a cheap bedsit.

Modern apt touch up with kitchenette. 10 minutes leisure stroll to Keukenhof Gardens. Great location with supermart/restaurants nearby. The hotel room is located in a seperate bldg and no lift available. Need to walk over to have breakfast/reception. Wonder if you have any userfriendly room for those with strollers and wheelchair bound.

We liked the breakfast spread, and the ease of getting to Keukenhof Gardens. Parking: Difficult and no map was offered for near by city lots. The hotel does not have any private parking.

Excellent location, close to amenities and an easy walk to the Keukenhof gardens. Friendly, efficient and courteous staff. Nice decor in public rooms and good facilities. The rooms (and bathrooms) were very small and cramped, which gave them a down-market feeling despite the fact that they were clean and well- appointed. Also, the walls seemed very poorly sound-proofed and one was conscious of noise coming from adjacent rooms.

If you want to visit Kuhkenhoff you wont find a closer hotel . we saw the flower parade form our bedroom window which was excellent; Lisse is a pleasant if unexceptional town , and the people are generally helpful and friendly the suite was noy very clean and the furniture and general standard of the decoration badly needed refurbishing. The staff were pleasant but I would say that the management need to review their staff training regarding maintenance of the hotel and the standard of cleanliness.
