First impressions: The building looked amazing and we were welcomed by very friendly staff. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. There were ample car parking facilities and the bedrooms were comfortable. We would love to visit again.
Just be warned: the stairs are very steep and the hotel does not have a lift.
The low price. The historic building, grounds (all green parklands and water) and location. The staff. I did not get to try the restaurant - seems to be very popular and I suspect that the hotel is just a side line.
Not a complaint as the room was as expected given the price and location: Room decor and facilities - all that you will need but a little old and tired. The room was very hot indeed with no A/C - not much of a problem for me but if you need A/C and you travel in the summer - check first. The breakfast - while high quality and well presented breakfast was not good value for money - but as not included in my room rate I skipped it on my second morning.
The hotel restaurant has great ambience, fabulous terrace for bar and restaurant, very impressive cuisine and very pleasant parc and surroundings. Staff is also very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are considerably more basic than what the rest of the castle leads one to expect. For this roomrate i personally expect a fridge in the room and a bathroom in line with the esthetics of the rest. If your room is close to the terrace (open till 1 am on certain days) and the day is warm (no airco in rooms) it might be rather noisy sleeping with the windows open.
surroundings, building, staff
room interior, bathroom outdated
Too noisy in the case of any functions (and they are there all the time, it feels). Misunderstandings in booking were handled extremely poorly with check out staff. Overpriced food at the restaurant. And continental breakfast with filter coffee for EUR 14.50? Get a reality check!
- Location is nice, close to Maastricht - Staff was friendly - Breakfast not too much choice but good quality - environment and hotel outside really beautiful
- rooms are not what you expect in a castle, interior is old and outdated - same goes for the bathroom - I would not recommend this to someone who is expecting a nice and romantic room
Friendly staff, great location, lovely breakfast.
This hotel is exquisite- for the location, it's uniqueness and the value. I could not have expected that for the price it was exactly if not more beautiful than in the photos. I would absolutely go back- just to go back to this Kasteel. (they even have bikes on site so that you can get lost in the beautiful Limburg countryside..)
Friendly and helpful personnel; beautiful location; excellent dinner
Was there before. Knew what to expact.
Very romantic ambiente and a very Good Restaurant
Think, they could make more out of it. Similar orientated Hotels in castels offer more convenience. Room was poor compared with Price
Peaceful location, comfortable room, good WiFi and really good food. I will now use it regularly having made the discovery. Room charge low, dinner expensive but very good so you have options.
The staff was friendly, the room was relatively large and clean (except for some mold in the bathroom), and the location is very nice especially for people who enjoy to be in the nature.
The hotel is extremely noisy. Although we live in a city and are used to some noise we woke up several times during the night because of a barking dog in the room near ours and people that were walking up the stairs and talking loudly while going to their room.
Quiet place in a liitle old village. All people very kind and a good restaurant
Room and bath could be a little bit more homely
Perfect location, friendly staff, flexible attitude, service-minded
Double room with 2 single beds. Difficult to watch tv from the bed because there is no support for the cession ( room 6)
They helped me to find my notebook by writing to the Venice Treviso airport where I left it. The restaurant is a Rotari club member and has a Michelin certificate. Girls are friendly, helpful and really nice. The place is just a wonder. There are a lot of old houses around and the castle is very impressive.
There is no bus to Belgium though it is just across the river. There is no walking access either. But that is no fault of the hotel. I went to Belgium anyway.
