The staff were very helpful during our stay. The room itself was pleasant, spacious for the area we were at, and the furnishings very nice. |

In response to a complaint I had about noise, the staff dealt very sympathetically with the problem and resolved it to my complete satisfaction by changing me to another room. In general staff were very helpful and professional. |

It was in a great location. We walked everywhere including to train station to go to Haarlem for the day. Good restaurants nearby. Museums within walking distance. Beautiful interior, comfortable rooms although not huge. Coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies in the lobby. Right on the canal. There was nothing we did not like about this hotel. |

Charming and cozy hotel with a sense that the rooms are individualised. Beautiful and cozy little lobby/sitting room area, which together with complimentary coffee and tea is unusually attractive The only problem encountered was poor sound isolation of the room, so all next door and hallway activities could be overheard. |

This well-located hotel makes an excellent first impression, with a comfortable lobby containing a giant salt-water aquarium (very therapeutic for adults and children alike) and internet facilities as well as complimentary hot drinks and cookies on a 24-hour basis for guests. [They also provide a complimentary bottle of water in the mini-bar every day.] The lobby opens out on to a sitting room and library with comfortable period decor throughout. Our room had a good-sized, spotless bathroom with giant twin sinks and a large bath-cum-shower. Opting against a canal view, we benefitted from a quiet room to the rear - though it seems all rooms are glazed in any case. The hotel kindly extended our check-out time by one hour, too. |

We enjoyed our stay in this sparkling comfortable hotel. The room was a good size, good lighting, with room temperature control, amenities in the bathroom, small refrigerator, safe and comfortable bed, table and chairs. The breakfast buffet had very nice variety. It is conveniently located to downtown. The public areas included free internet, a library that included children's books and a highchair in the eating area. The staff was friendly, efficient, super nice and helpful. |

I liked the luxury of the rooms and reception The bathroom was top class except for the shower curtain. A glass partition would have been so much better |

Staying in this hotel a guest can really enjoy the comfort of beeing so close to all city's mayor attractions that are reachable by foot or with the public transportation. It's in the peaceful area and if You are lucky You can get a room with a canal view. They offer very good breakfast. It's very nice to stay in the library for a cup of coffee, to read a book, to meet people or just to relax in a vintage design. It was pretty cold in a room. The hotel has funny ventilation sistem. In the bathroom I couldn't switched off the ventilator (because there's no way to do it) and it was working all the time very loud. It was so disturbing that I had problems falling asleep. Plus they've installed the air condition above the bed and the head (!). Staying in bed You have the impression of the wind blowing in Your head all the time. While making a reservation I asked them to give me a room with a canal view. But I got a room with no view at all! I watched another room's window. |

The staff made this place very special: I am afraid that staff in Dutch hotels don't always have the highest sense of customer service - the people at the Estherea were brilliant, from breakfast buffet staff, chambermaids to front-of-house; all very polite, helpful, amenable, and friendly: they also remember who you are, and ask about how your stay is going. The breakfast is also very good by Dutch standards, and well worth getting as part of your stay. The decor is a great combination of being both homely and elegant, and the beds were very comfortable. If you get a canalside view, it justs adds to the magic. The location cannot be beaten; central enough to get anywhere, but tucked away enough to make the hotel feel it's in its own space. The first room I was given did not smell very fresh, and I think this was down to the air-conditioning. I asked if the staff could do anything about it and within 5 minutes I had been moved to a superior room at no extra charge. Everything was done with the highest degree of graciousness. Noise was another slight problem - though not excessive, there was certainly a lot of corridor traffic from other guests until well into the early morning. This is to be expected, given that this is Amsterdam and the location is fairly central. However, if the hotel could do a bit more to remind guests to be more considerate (this is a 4-star hotel after all), the Estherea would enter the realms of one of the best places I have stayed in bar none. |

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with very plush decor and a romantic atmosphere. A special request was made by myself to see if we could upgrade to a suite as a surprise for my wife and they did not disappoint. My wife was thrilled, the suite was breathtaking. We asked for recommendation on a restaurant on which the reception booked us a table and we had an excellent meal. We had an amazing 2 days stay in Amsterdam, a beautiful city, thank you so much for making our trip so special. |

Excellent staff, who where very pleasent and helpful.the reception and public areas are very comfortable, free tea and coffee in recetion is a great idea. And the location of the hotel is excellent. Room was incredibly small with limited storage space for clothes and suitcases etc, noisey plumbing from the next room,no alternitive to an expensive breakfast. |

Excellent interior, free coffee/choco/tea/candies into the lobby and water at minibar, friendly staff (helped with luggage, provided us with an umbrella, recommended nice fish restraunt, gave different information about the city etc.), nice room with a view, peaceful and yet central location, reasonable price. Definitely deserves staying here. I didn't really like the way they manage credit cards. They froze some money in case of no show (which my bank defroze after 2 weeks anyway), then froze the total price plus some more money in case of loss or damage. Now i have to watch those money on hold to be withdrawn partially. |
