Great place, except, if you get one of the higher floors, that means above second floor, you may kill yourself, as the stairs are narrow and steep and yes, no lift....If you are a climber.....I strongly recommend this hotel. Clean, well designed rooms, great location. Only one of the reception staff was a bit of an idiot the others were great. steep, narrow staircase to floor 5...........

It is very hard to find a family room in Amsterdam for 4, so pleased to find this room. Good setting on a canal. Would prefer if decoration was more traditional as it is such a lovely Dutch house. About a 15-20 minute walk to Central Station.

Staff were really nice. Free coffees and hot chocolate were good. The room was too small. The bathroom was also small. The floor creaked and there was a missing shower curtain.

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Fabulous location just off the Amstel. Easy walk to city centre but away from the noise and hassle. Five minutes to Waterlooplein.

Location was excellent. Don't be fooled by the pretty, design-y pictures, the rooms are fairly dirty and gross. I contemplated sleeping in my clothes so I wouldn't have to touch the sheets. The bathroom had a moldy/mildewy smell and I was so skeeved out, I didn't take a shower there. Thankfully I only had to stay one night.

Its walking distance to the city center. Thats it.. If u've booked a double room and u have a lot of luggage u r in for trouble there is no lift and the stairs is very bad to even walk. Its an ancient building. The room can hardly accomodate people, forget luggage. Its not all worth the money... Unless u get rooms for real cheap I wouldnt recommnend the place.

Very convenient location on a canal off Singel Shabby carpets in common areas, narrow staircases and corridors - but that's what you get in old Amsterdam

Lovely location but....I Was in a 1st flloor room adjacent to the street and it was noisy, there is no soundproofing. The single room bathrooms are far too small, basically dangerous! Breakfast is ok for €6 but could be a lot better organised.

Very friendly staff. Atmosphere of the old building design. didn't mind the 5th floor without the lift, besides only the twin room are there as far as I know. Should be for young fit people any way. So move your a... Would be nice a bit of refreshment but it wasn't that bad any way...like the design

The location is good...it is just a walk away from a shopping street and the street with nightclubs and pubs. The hotel does not have a lift and has 5 floors, unfortunately, I got a room on the 5th floor and even more unfortunate was the fact that I was with a lot of luggage. The rooms and washrooms are quite small, but well managed.

The staff is Ok ! somewhat helpful, free juices and coffee at kitchen, Location is really strategic, view is on canal really nice, facilities is working well, room service not bad, value for money tolerable. Staaairs are so high separated in tiring way and guess what no lift, a mess when arrive with luggage or gonna leave but it goes on at the end ! . The room not wide but not that small, clean and suits the purpose if u are travelling fro leisure.

The room was completely amazing!!!! Clean, luxury, with canal view, perfect!!! Located in the city centre in a very nice area! The staff was very lovely and helpful, expecially the boy who speaks a little bit italian. Beautiful atmosphere :d nice colours in the room, in the hall and in the breakfast room! Wonderful cat in the dining room :) See you next tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimeeee :) Everything is perfect! For family, friends, young couple! The only problem for old people are the narrow steps..but Amsterdam is full of steps, you'll find them everywhere.

The hotel is uniquely decorated with modern+chic touch, and yet maintaining a very competitive rate. The staffs are also friendly & provide good information for us to venture the city. Location is quite far from Amsterdam Centraal, but there is a subway station nearby. They will charge extra if you pay by credit card.

Great hotel for its price! Rooms comfortble and very clean. Nicely designed and lovely old authentic building. Nothing really, exept that some people might find that the walls are quite thin, but nothing too annoying
