the staff the quality of the room the view
no lift and to go to the 4th floor through the stairs and a suitcase, was not easy
great location, homey staff, good breakfast for a good price, privacy for a single at reasonable price - a rare find in Amsterdam small hotels.
the bathroom was so tiny, it could be improved if the shower had a curtain rather then a glass vitrine. the small room needs more ventilation, and missing hanging hooks.
The hotel was much nicer than I thought especially as it is rated a 2 star which I think needs to be changed to a 3 star. Starf we very friendly and helpful and kindly opened the main door at 4 in the morning after a late night out. I deffently wouldn't mind going back there for another few nights away.
There are only a few bad things I can say about this hotel which is that the heating in our room was not on which we had to request for them to fix which they did but at night my friends were freezing cold and we had to request for extra douvet. The other thing was that the stairs were a little bit steep and was slightly annoying when your bringing down a suitcase.
Free coffee, nice staff
Rooms are too small, bathroom is even smaller you can barely move. It is difficult to sleep because you can hear even footsteps
the location of the hotel and the price
stayed only for the night everything was okay
Clean Affordable Excellent location Very friendly staff Loved the cat !! Powerful shower Lovely view unto the canal Enough cupboard space, especially if you're only visiting for 5 days Coffee & Tea facilities 24hrs
The bed wasn't very comfortable & the duvet was too small for two people Noisy neighbours, walls are a little thin
The hotel is centrally located and near many restaurants.
The hotel was old and a bit shabby. The place needs a lot of updating.
Good location Cheap bikes to rent Near Metro station Good value for location Rooms reasonable size
Walking to the 5th floor, very steep stairs! Was tiring going up and down to friends room on the 1st floor !
€6 Breakfast was value for money. Good location.
Expensive for the quality of room.
Nice positioning Nice Amsterdam building Simple and effective rooms
Toilet in bathroom very tiny
the room overall was lovely, both me and my girlfriend were pleasently surprised upon entrance, very good location and helpful staff.
during both nights sleep at the hotel i had trouble sleeping due to noise of other customers in their rooms and outside the hotel, also on our first day the hot water wasn't working at all.
Breakfast each day was delicious
No air conditioning Toilet was very close to the wall, pretty much had to sit sideways.
- the staff is kind - the hotel is not too far away from the center - clean
- room furniture a bit cheap - tv broken - window glass broken
The very nice and friendly receptionist (Catherine) carried my luggage up to the fourth floor - and I did not even have to ask for this service. Free coffee, tea and juice. Breakfast basic but ok. Comfortable matress.
The worst thing was the shabby, old, stained fitted carpet on the stairs and in the bedroom. It looked horrible and it smelled even more horrible. Fortunately enough, it was possible to keep the window open all night! Very small bathroom and sink, old, frayed towels. 85 Euros for one night (incl. breakfast) is at least 50% too much for a place like this. (The Golden Tulip Amsterdam West, where I stayed before, offers top quality at nearly the same price).
Staff so very helpful, showed us on a map several times where to go. We were right next to reception so thought we may experience noise but we didn't. Free tea/coffee/juice in kitchen and loved the vending machine which had bottles of water and cans of Heineken :)
;) good hotel 2 thumbs up
Great location on inner canal belt within easy walking distance of Rembrandtplein and close to the main attractions. Friendly reception staff. Clean room with modern, contemporary design. Typical Amsterdam design of building was appreciated.
I was booked out to a nearby hotel on the first night of my stay without forewarning. Unfortunately this other hotel was nowhere near comparable standard despite being assured by the Hermitage it was. This room was in the basement with minimal lighting and furniture and no basic amenities as well as being noisy as there was a bar directly next to the hotel. The manager of the Hermitage was nowhere to be seen and didn't bother to contact me to apologise when I complained to the receptionist the following day. Being in the hotel business myself in London, I found this both rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't book again purely on this basis. Summary: nice hotel, great location, poor customer service
Nice little place, but I found the walk form the town centre a little too long, especially when we discovered we were more interested in exploring the Jordan side of Amsterdam. Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff were sufficient. It did the job but didn't overwhelm
It's simply not bad
Staff were really helpful and friendly. Location also good as it was close to several landmarks.
good location. everything is close by.
need new bed. hated the bed!
Location Breakfast Clean
-No air condition or curtains to protect very small room from the heat. Blind was not sufficient because when it was down, the window could have not been left opened -There was only one electric plug very high on the wall,((cca 1.60 m) where charging was almost impossible. Very inconvenient because everybody has cameras, I-Phones, etc. We had to go downstairs to the kitchen and stay there until our camera and phone were charged -the washroom was so small that a bigger person would not be able to use it -we understand that old Dutch buildings are small, it means the rooms will be small too, but electric plugs, blinds or air condition are basic things for a hotel. It was not cheap at all considering inconvenience.
Nothing at all!
Hotel, service, room!!!!
Free tea/coffee facilites in the kitchen Open access to dining area to eat take aways
Towels would arrive late in the evening Soap dispenser in the bathroom was always empty and never topped up even after repeated requests Lamp shade in the room was just above the head and was broken
nice modern furnishing, big shower, very comfortable single bed, great location
Toilet was in front of basin had to lean over.
