A noise, something like a distant vacuum cleaner, outside our room which interrupted sleep. Next morning, when it was pointed out, a member of staff acknowledged the (still present) sound and said it would be investigated.
Bed (single in a twin-bedded room) was quite soft, although this is a preference I guess. Can anyone explain - why do hotels insist on putting the two single beds in a 'twin' room right next to each other? If we wanted to sleep together, would have booked a double room.
Bathroom: bath too small, only good to shower in - but no shower enclosure/curtain, so water everywhere.
Odd location: quite literally in the middle of the two sides of a single-carriageway road, however it was a quiet road so not an issue for sleep. Formerly the site of a border crossing, so it adds character. Also convenient for onward journey next morning.
Hotel itself is great - very clean and buffet breakfast was good (included in rate, so not a feast, but ok all the same). We checked in very late, but called ahead in advance and they explained how to collect key. No problem.
