The owner is very personable and friendly. Being able to make our own breakfast and coffee in the morning was a plus. We could have easily eaten every meal there had we wanted to. We also enjoyed the sounds of the parrot!

Excellent. In hart van Amsterdam in rustige straat. Leidseplein om de hoek. Prima te bereiken vanaf P en R en tram (acht euro per dag + gratis OV). Kans is groot dat we weer terugkomen.

The hostess was exceptional, as was the food in the kitchen and the whole atmosphere. The host recommend good restaurants and places to visit which helped with out trip. It was a little noisy in the mornings but that was only because our room was near the kitchen. Otherwise it was perfect.

Great facilities. Great use of 24 hour small kitchen with well stocked fridge. Bread meats juice ect. Good sized room for a city location with small table Nd two chairs. Nice sized bathroom with good sized and clean shower. The location is just out of the centre but in a great location all the same. Few min walk to museum district and the leidesplien square for evening drinks. Easy use of trams to get around. But to walk to centre would take up to 30 mins tops as its a small city. Ieke the owner is a very helpful host it would be great for small family, singles and couples but would not suit a large group going to party as it offers a much more homely atmosphere. You are able to leave luggage after check out at own risk which is great if you have evening flight. Would stay again next visit.

A very nice and helpful host, cosy rooms, a "homelike" feeling also due to the always accessible filled fridge and tiny kitchen. Very nice quarter, with good restaurants and public transport options. The dining area is a little bit tiny (but no big problem) and you could wake up because of the people making breakfast, but it's a small b+b, so usally this to is no big problem.

The location was excellent.just take the 197 bus to and from the airport for €2.the room was great very nicely decorated and the kitchen area was so handy no rushing for breakfast. The only thing that kind of botherd us alittle was the noise from the bird and some building work going on downstairs.

Convenient location on a quiet street. Our arrival was a bit strange as nobody answered for several minutes, making me question whether we had the right place as the name of the hotel is not easily visible (I later noticed the name near the doorbell and on the bottom of the window in tiles). Also, it is a very small place with the kitchen facilities right outside our door and table down a short hallway so you can hear people making/eating their breakfast in the morning. To be fair, all other guests were very respectful but if you are a light sleeper it may be a problem.

As stated in other traveler's comments, the owner was very nice and very helpful. The room was very clean with a very nice size private bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and very convenient. And, if there wasn't something in the kitchen, there was a grocery store a couple steps away. The b&b was within minutes walking distance to all of the museums and tourist spots. Overall, it was a great experience. I think that this would be common in any hotel in Amsterdam being that it is so crowded, but the streets outside were a little noisy late at night and early in the morning. We just shut the window if it got to be too much. Although the owner was very welcoming to us and our 2 year old, I probably wouldn't recommend it for people traveling with a small child. We kept having to hush him as to try not to disturb the other guests.

Close proximity to the city enabled us to walk to most places of interest. Ieke stocks breakfast provisions in a fridge in a tiny kitchenette and guests (3 rooms) have access to that any time of day or night. We could have a night in and cook a simple meal or purchase ingredients and cook there. There is a very cheap supermarket right next door that stocked everything needed. There is no lounge area for guests and the eating area is tiny, seating 4 only. This did not present any problems for us. The guest rooms are on the first floor up some very steep steps that would be difficult for elderly or unfit to negotiate with a heavy suitcase. Ieke is always happy to assist with that.

A small B&B with a homely feel and yet very clean and modern. The kitchen facilities are excellent and being able to help yourself to the food any time is very handy for snacks and for breakfast. It is well located near the Van Gogh museum and the departure point for several canal cruises as well as restaurants and shops. Ieke is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Free wi-fi is an added bonus. I would really recommend staying here. There was a strange buzzing noise in my room which may have been from the exhaust fan which runs 24/7 but it was hard to tell. It was like the sound of a fridge motor except higher pitched and constant. I was able to put up with it for a night and slept using ear-plugs because I'm sensitive to that sort of noise, but if I'd been staying longer I would have wanted to change rooms.

Great location in the city centre. The bedroom was spacious for Amsterdam (usually the bedrooms are small and expensive) and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was plentiful and you can help yourself to food from the fridge at any time. The B&B was spotless, Ieke is very friendly and the set-up very relaxed. We enjoyed it a lot and would certainly return.

The owner was very helpful and friendly - could not be faulted. The hotel is in a quiet street and in a very good location to access all that Amsterdam offers. The ensuite bathroom was good with plenty of room. The kitchen and facilities are good and the owner is generous with access with what is on offer - it is a self service B&B with more than adequate provisions. The accommodation is on the first floor with a very steep and narrow flight of stairs which would be difficult for some. The rooms are small with no facility to stow luggage conveniently or hang clothes. Bags are either on the bed or on the floor. The eating area is set up for 4 people but the reality is that it is only big enough for 2 people at the same time. It would be okay for an overnight stay - we stayed 3 nights. Whilst it met our needs at the time I would have liked something a little more comfortable, which would probably cost more..

Staff was kind and I could drop-off my baggage in the morning. The owner helped me by telling where to go and see. The dining space for breakfast is very small and uncomfortable. It is actually a corner of a hallway. There is one table and four chairs, but the space is so narrow that actually, for two people at most.

“We were warmly greeted and given a choice of which room we wanted. The room was clean and bright and we were given a big pile of towels. The room was secure which was imnportant as we have had things stolen from our hotel rooms in Amsterdam before (this is a trip we make every year for business). I would say that this is the nicest place we have stayed in this price range. We are hoping to book again for next year (we were unable to do so at the time as it is too far in the future)!” Jackie, Carlton In Lindrick, Notts |
