Location, it was not difficult to find and right in the middle of a nightlife/shopping area. Things in the room were worn out and/or too old and used, particularly curtains, carpet and the windows, which could not be completely closed, so I had to hear the noise from the busy street all night long. The stairs are defiinitely dangerous, too narrown and windy that it was a balancing act just to go up and down. Breakfast was all about bread and a bit poor. Definitely no value at all for the expensive money they charge, the reviews I've read here were so misleading, I will not reccommend this hotel as this was the most expensive and worst stay of my trip to 8 European cities. I was so disappointed.

Only location Horrible!! The worst hotel i´ve ever been, actually it is not a proper hotel I could call it "cheap pension", The staff was so unfriendly!! No helpful at all and so arrogant especially the old guy. Breakfast was not buffet, was only a watery coffe, 2 slices of cheese and some bread, Thats all!!! The gave us such a small room ( no more than 10 meters) in the top floor, I knew toilet wasn´t in the room but didnt know was in another floor!! Terrible!! You have to climb through the very strech stairs to go up to the 3er floor And was not a gay hotel, I saw some girls and straight couples. I definatly not recommend this "cheap pension", you better run away!!!!

Location The staff was not the most courteous and helpful.. Checking in felt like we were interrupting their life and they just had to deal with us because they had to. Needless to say, we did not ask anything from the staff during the entire stay. I would only recommend this hotel only if it was the last option in Amsterdam.

Good size room, great location and view of street, friendly service, good breakfast, WiFi worked good too. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay, very helpful staff. The stairs are incredibly steep... Quite hard to lug a rucksack up!

Ability to come and go as you please and that you had your own key to the hotel Although the room was not ensuite, and I fully realised thisat the time of booking, it could have so easily been so, as there was enough room for a small ensuite, other wise the toilet and showers were well kept and very clean,

Really good situation for gay life! You feel like home :) Stairs are not a real problem, but if you travel with 50 kilos of luggage, maybe yes.

Fantastic situation, in the very center of Amsterdam. Clean and large rooms, good breakfast. This section of Kerkstrat is sometimes noisy on Friday or Saturday night, as there stands some cofeeshops and restaurants . Consider this point if you have trouble to go back to sleep.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, generous breakfast with a choice and great central location I was on 3rd floor so you need to be fit to manage the dutch style narrow steep stairs but I found this a quirky challenge and amusing

Room was large as I had twin room with ensuite. I belive there may be only two such rooms. Great for trams. Walked to Rijksmuseum and a 20min walk to Anne Frank. Included breakfast was ample if not dull. Warning: the initial step are the steepest I have experience while in Amsterdam: they go almost streaight up leading from lobby. I have friends that would not make the climb. Yes, I would stay at this property due to it's location. And, even being steps from the Leiderstatt, the noice level was not distracting at night. Enjoy. Stairs, stairs, stairs

Good location, nice views. Quiet. It took me 5 minutes to figure out the light in the shower. The common shower was so-so. The outer door could not be locked from the inside.

Pleasant and helpful staff, clean facilities, comfy bed. The location was excellent, close to a lot of restaurants and right next to the city center. Breakfast was more than we had hoped for: toast, ham, eggs, juice and coffee. Will stay there again the next time I go to Amsterdam
