Location,friendly staff,old style historical build
The daytime receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel has an excellent location and good facilities. Very good value for money
The towels were quite small. They also forgot to put towels in one of the rooms and when we asked for them (for a 2nd time, I guess they forgot), the night receptionist was very rude and did not help us.
Good well heated room and comfortable beds. Location excellent. Very good value for money.
No drinks making facilities in rooms. Front rooms can be noisy at night. Stairs are for people with mountaineering experience!
- good location, close to city centre and pubs, bars, good place to stay if you are just looking for a bed after a long day/night out - clean room (but very small) - bed was comfortable
- some of the staff friendly, others not - there is only 1 person to manage the hotel, if this person is busy you have to wait outside untill you can check in, not a very welcoming feeling - there is only 1 toilet and 1 shower for the whole building, this means you have to wait a long time - very noisy in the hallway - breakfast looked a bit dull, but i didn't take it, plenty of other possibilities in the neighbourhood - rather expensive
There was strong and terribly bad smell in the room. I couldnot stand that smell. I donot know the cause of the smell. Execpet this smell, this hotel is very good for vallue.
The location was excellent. Very clean and a very comfortable bed.
The stairs down to the room were steep and narrow and had to be negotiated sideways to fit my feet on the steps. Very difficult with a suitcase! Booked a double, got two single beds (seperately made) just pushed together, so basically I had a single. Noisy on the morning from staff using the stairs constantly and banging the door on the store cupboard.
The location of the hotel was excellent, ok if you just want to sleep, shower and change clothes.
There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. A very small bottle of water will cost Euro 2.50 from reception. Breakfast cost Euro 10 each, a more substantial breakfast is available at any coffee house for about the same price. The hotel guests were mainly families with small children, so at times it was quite noisy.
located in middle of the city with 3 trams passing through; easy to get every where; lot of restaurants and shops near by.
no elevator and the stairs are hard to walk. staff are friendly but not well trained.
Top location with friendly staff and comfy sweet rooms. Shared bathroom was never occupied.
Staff has been instructed to not give out information on gay venues in the city.
Clean and in Amsterdam centre
the stairs no toilet nearby
Budget friendly, clean accommodation in a great central area. Would use again and definitely recommend to all.
Minor gripe: No ensuite. Toilet and shower were on the floor above, but this was just a minor hassle.
The staff is incredibly nice. The position is great, close to the museums and a transport hub (5'), not far from the Central Train Station (20' by foot). It's a quiet street.
The room was nice, but definitely not "deluxe" as mentioned in the announcement.
the location is perfect, it's in the city center so you can just walk till the main sights
Location was ideal, rooms very clean & comfortable. Arrived earlier then agreed check in time but staff were very accommodating & allowed us to leave our cases in a secure room
Spiral narrow stair case to rooms, didn't cause us a problem but wouldn't be ok for the infirmed or elderly
It was in a brilliant location. The room was lovely and the staff helped me to organise a surprise for a friends birthday.
The stairs were so steep but that can't be helped.
Location is excellent! Bed was reallly comfortable. Good WiFi
Room was a bit smelly We could hear our neighbors loud and clear.
location, bathroom at deluxe rooms are good
there were dirty towels at bathroom when we check in. We asked for new towels. They gave. But did not took the dirty ones. Room is not clean at all.
The location is perfect for me
This hotel has gone down hill rapidly from last year since it changed hands - those who have stayed here many a time remember it as The Unique - the service was good, there was a proper breakfast room - now its just in reception - and pictures on your website of the hotel still show how the hotel used to look - not how it looks now - this is misleading on your part, you still show the original breakfast room which is no longer there! A great shame that this once superb little hotel in Central Amsterdam has fallen by the wayside big time - I shall be looking at other hotels on Kerkstraat for future visits
Location is good! Near to flower market!
Cleanliness still can improve!
Location, room were very good, the staff friendly and helpful.
premise for breakfast a bit small (in the reception lobby), sometimes noisy from outside at night (close nightclubs) but with closed windows it is OK
I just love boutique hotels. Massive improvement since the renovation. Will always be my humble stop in amsterdam.
No kleenex box in the bedroom. Thats all.
Stayed here for a weekend! Location is good but that's the only positive! Requested a quite room but was put in room 31 in basement with a small window facing the street and a parking area for bikes!! The noise was unbearable not only from passing traffic but from the staff! The laundry room was outside our door and bags of laundry lay in the corridor! The steps/ladder to the room was a death trap as so narrow! We were woken on both mornings by the staff banging equipment and doing laundry !! The room was serviced ie: the bed made and given 2 clean/torn basically hand towels to shower with. The rubbish bag from the other rooms was left on the floor!! On checking out at 11.30 (should be 11am) we were informed but a very rude staff member that we had to pay €5 as we were 30mins late checking out!!! Obviously, I angrily refused to pay and left very disappointed by the whole experience!! Speaking to other guests, they had the same comments. Amsterdam is a fantastic place but my advice is pay a few more Euro for accommodation and research research research!!! Avoid Quentin hotel at all costs!!
