location, breakfast is perfect! I like this hotel so much.

Good location,10 minutes walk to Rotterdam Centraal train station.

Dead handy for Rotterdam CS and right by loads of shops. The cooked breakfast option is always a bonus on the continent, and tea & coffee making in the room is also a rare treat.

It's getting a bit tired and worn round the edges. The toilet flush was out of a plumbing museum.

staff might as well not have existed, saw one briefly at check in and that was it. Rooms very run down, TV an antique.Breakfast was like a school cafeteria, take your tray and collect bits on way round. Only recommend if your priorities are budget (which mine was) and location (5 mins from Main station) and need for wifi.

The location

The hotel looks like it hasn't been updated since the 60's and I would suggest the hotel owners update the website photographs to what the hotel actually looks like. I would also suggest replacing the sign outside which currently says "EL CENTRAL" obviously with HOT missing. The reception area is fairly welcoming however once you move upstairs to the rooms there is an unbelievable smell of dampness/mould. The corridors I can only describe as filthy and there was even a ladder at the end of my corridor, god knows what for, it certainly wasn't for decorating. My room was tatty, marks on the walls, carpet and the bathroom wasn't clean. The window didn't close properly and with clubs in the close vicinity, getting a good nights sleep was hard. I would expect a much higher class of hotel for the price paid!

Filthy, especially bathrooms and all the main parts of the hotel - lift; stairs; corridors and hallways No amenities in the bedroom except TV. Literally one bed and lamp. Door not secure and no spy hole. Door repeatedly knocked on by other guests and did not feel safe. Whole set up felt grubby, tacky, extremely unsafe

The lobby was nice, the breakfast was well rounded with a choice of breads, scrambled eggs, meats and cheeses. There are three computers to use in the lobby they was very helpful in connecting with family/friends and planning tours. Great access to the shopping district and trams.

For the price, my room was crummy. Nice size for a single but the bathroom floor was sticky and the shower head mount was broken so I had to hold it the whole time. The room had an intense overpowering perfume stench. I wonder what that was covering up? TV turned off at 1am in the middle of programs. Everything had a grimy feel to it. Didn't realize until the first night that there are two or three night clubs next door and across the street. The party didn't stop until 6am or so. Good if you want to party. They can't do anything about the nightclubs but the place needs a deep clean or a remodel.

So cute oldschool building and interiors, funny elevator :) Friendly staff. Right opposite is nice De Beurs club. Unpredictable good and various breakfast!

Rooms are old furnished and not clean enough, as for May 2013 a noisy construction nearby.

The room was very comfortable. The hotel is an old one and needs refurbishment, but this is no disadvantage, because the price is low compared to quality. And the location is great!

water pipes which leaked, 'swipe' door cards which did not work, people wandering around the corridors at night banging on doors and trying swipe cards to gain access to rooms.

The location being in the centre but not being next to a nightclub that didn't finish until 5am!

The room was old, tired and tatty, with poor facilities. The bath was in awfull condition. and although the beds were clean I couldn't say that for the rerst of the room. The curtains had holes in them and didn't fully cover the windows. There was no safe in the room to keep valuables. Our room was at the front and due to the nightclub next door that didn't finish until 5am was very noisy. I have stayed here before in a room at the back that had been refurbished an was reasonable, which is why I booked again. After this visit I very much doubt I will use the hotel again. Not a good experiance.

The room was pretty nice, but a little rundown.

We didn't really like the bedbugs in our first room, and the room we transferred to after had splashes of who knows what on the walls in addition to a half empty liquor bottle in the corner. Left a lot to be desired.

Room inward facing, basic, poor, tatty décor, awful carpet. Like a basic hostel really. Not fit to be a good city centre hotel. Breakfast basic. Don't go there.

1. very cheap furniture, very old, painted dozens of time, 2. small old normal tv, they ve could change the tv at least to an lcd, it costs nothing these days. 3. no phone in the rooms, no real internet, you must keep changing routers and the connection falls down every 2 minutes and of course very slow. 4. no water pressure, 5. ugly,
