Golden Tulip Leiden Centre

Beds soft but comfortable. The place looks a little dated bout still very functional. In this economic climate wise to avoid costly unnecessary costs.

I thought the shower head was badly positioned, it faced across the bath not the length of it.

We like the location opposite the railway station and the very close proximity the city centre.

The staff at reception were all very friendly and helpfull. Unfortunately the staff in the restaurant during breakfast were courteous at best. More intend on constantly stocking and refilling the buffet then to clear tables. Only if you left the table after breakfast would everything be taken away, wich meant we had to stack our cereal bowls on top of other plates used for the hot and cold dishes wich made it all look very messy. On the first day the hot dishes were not switched on so all the egg, sausages, bacon and so on were cold. When telling this to one of the staff she replied she couldn't possibly know why that was. Why not say:"I'm sorry to hear you couldn't enoy our hot food and we'll look into it".

Service was good and the people working there very friendly. The food was also excellent!

The room was very good value. Nice, quiet and clean, the airconditioning was an unexpected bonus on a very hot July night. the shower was extremely powerful which provided a pleasant wake up.

The bed was a touch too soft for my liking but not so much that i would not return.

I appreciated the service of having the room available very early (08.00h a.m.). I had requested this by e-mail when I booked because a landed on a flight very early that day. By extending this courtesy I could shower and change before starting the rest of my day.

Quietness

We asked for a double bed and had two beds pushed together. The bar closed at 10.30pm and not as advertised on the website. I worked in my room until 2pm and was the told it could not be serviced that day. There was no out of hours room service.

The location is great, the rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly, the breakfast was okay.

It was my second time at the Golden Tulip, after two years, and I somehow felt the room wasn't as clean as it was the first time. The second day of my stay they didn't even bother to make the bed again, they just slightly rearranged the pillows and the bed cover and that was it! This shouldn't happen in a 4 star hotel. Also, the A/C-heating system is awfully loud and it doesn't really work.

We enjoyed the location. Our reason for choosing Leiden as our destination was because we wanted to visit the Leiden American Pilgrim Museum. We were not disappointed. A second reason was that we wanted to be in a location that made using the public transpotation system of the Netherlands easy. Because the hotel is located just across from the main train station, The Golden Tulip worked well.

Een prettig, gezellig hotel, en de kamer was comfortabel. Het ontbijt was ook erg goed.

Het hotel ligt centraal. het ontbijt is prima en het personeel is vriendelijk

De kamer vond ik toch wat eenvoudig voor een 4 sterren hotel (r een vrij kleine kamer, rafelige handdoeken, vlekken op het tapijt bijv.) en de ligging aan de kant van de grote weg en het station geeft veel lawaai

De ligging van dit hotel is erg goed; je loopt zo naar hartje Leiden. Onze kamer aan de achterkant van het hotel was heel rustig.

Er hing een ongekend penetrante mottenballengeur op de gang van onze verdieping. Het ontbijt is prima maar nogal massaal; het nodigt niet echt uit om op zondagochtend nog even achterover te zitten en een extra cappuccino te drinken.

nette en schone kamers en zeer goed ontbijt ligt centraal gelegen dus ideaal voor winkelen
