Staff were nice

Room was small, no drawers to put things into, poor wardrobe facilities for hanging clothes and we were staying 5 nights, bathroom toilet had water running all the time. Breakfast was not very good.

Welcoming and friendly, food of excellent quality and great value for money.

it was what it claimed to be, a simple guest house next to the station and town.

The Venlo train station was right across the street, making this hotel very convenient. We had a car, so did not come by train, and they had free parking in the back.We did walk across the street to use the shuttle bus from the train station to Floriade. Our room was clean and roomy for the 3 of us. Also, breakfast was included in our price.

Great and strategic location (close to train and bus station). The hotel is clean.

Cosy, quaint old hotel with large spacious simple clean rooms & friendly staff, opposite train station & bus connections. Venlo is a lovely small town with plenty of shops, cafes & bars, also interesting to just walk the cobbled streets & view the old buildings etc...

Room and bathroom fairly basic for the price. No tea/coffee making facility.

Excellent location - opposite the train station, also having its own car park is convenient as street parking is very limited. Easy walking distance of "old" town. Excellent restaurant (evening meals) and good buffet breakfast. The de-luxe room we had for three nights was certainly very comfortable and spacious.

The entrance and foyer are small and practical rather than inviting but the hotel cannot help that. The weather was extremely hot - up to 37C and the fan provided was really ineffective. A bit of updating by the hotel to include air-cooling/air-conditioning in the rooms would be beneficial (and there is space to do this).

It was close to the railway station

Noisy (from street, lift, other guests), frosty staff, rather down-at- heel ambience.

Very convenient location, surprisingly quiet, (although I had a room at the back of the hotel) acar-park which was very useful.

The decor upstairs was a little tired, and could perhaps do with freshening up.

Room condition was too different on first night, then I have to negotiate to get room. but price is same as booking

Location was excellent with easy access to town centre and train/bus station. Good value for money and comfortable.

Access to our room was through breakfast dining room and had to traipse through guests having breakfast on day of departure. A difficult one to correct.

Location opposite the railroad station. Friendly and helpful staff. Good kitchen, especially the breakfast table. The 'ancient' atmosphere, hotel established year 1876

Difficult to drag luggage up and down the steep and narrow staircases. A lift should be constructed at the back of the hotel. No aircondition. Even a small a/c unit will make a big difference during hot summer days (and nights).

Food was excellent. Staff helpful.

Booked twin rooms for single occupancy,they were very cramped even for one person. In my room there was a hole in the floor at the toilet door and it was only the tightly fitted carpet that made it possible to step into the toilet. Don't know how much longer it would hold.

Very friendly staff. Good restaurant service. Proximity to buses and station worked very well.
