The location. Quiet but right in the middle of town. The view of the canal from the window. Cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Clean. Comfortable room. Politeness of the owner.

The very steep and narrow stairs. Well, you don't have to carry your luggage, as it is lifted by a hoist. Even though, if you are not fit and are given a room above the second floor, it may be a problem. Despite the courtesy of the staff, the relaxed atmosphere is sometimes too relaxed and the knowledge about town (e.g. restaurants) somewhat deficient.

Comfortable beds and bedding, convenient location, good value.

Potential guests should be aware that the rooms are small but the hotel is well-located and a good value.

-location is good. -Breakfast is tasty and valuable. -bathroom is well designed although space is limited. -local atmosphere.

-when you get into the reception, there is a strange smell, not fresh, i really don't like it. -although the cat do have manner, but still not so comfotable when you have your yourgt in breakfast table while the cat is earger for that.

Very quaint hotel. Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff, and amazing location.

The stairs... Haha! Believe me, this place is completely worth it if you're able, but the staircase is rather small & very steep. But I was also on the top floor (5 flights total). However, please take a look at the photo taken from my room!

Everything was excellent. And the location is the best to see all attractions on shank's mare.

Atmosphere

Shower did not drain well. Caution: very narrow and steep stair wells. Not unusual for 17th century Amsterdem buildings.

Very nice location, very good price for Amsterdam central location. Very clean modern renovated rooms. Nice view on the Heerengracht.

Breakfast is a bit limited, but also not expensive.

Great location, a couple of minutes walk from Dam Square on a quiet canalside street

Nothing we didn't like. It was clean and the interior was a modern finish - nice bed, flat screen TV, excellent wifi reception throughout, nice shower. Great value-for-money hotel. Room was small and bathroom was compact, but as I said, nice modern finish; and lets be honest, you don't go to Dam to spend all the time in your room!

Room a bit small, even compare with hotel in Paris. Stairs are steep but manageable.

handy for centre

We had a twin room with canal view: it was a small clean and comfortable room and the view of the canal was really nice. Bathroom is also nice and new. Location is great, and during our four-days visit, we have never used public transportation. This hotel is great for people who want to stay near center of the city and not to spend a lot of money. However, if you like to split hairs, and you are fond of complaining, then it is better to take some cheaper hotel away from center, where you get a lot more for a lot less money.

The location was great. The Attendent was very gentle and helpfull. The room confortable, nice space, clean, beatifull view of the channel. The atmosphere is very nice, felt like home. I recommend completaly.

Quaint old dutch house right on the canal; fantastic location. Situated near to the Anne frank house in the nine small streets. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms tiny but smart and extremely clean. Small but modern bathroom which was more than adequate. Great value for money. Can't wait to return.

It`s cosy hotel in the center of Amster, situated on the Canal. Small and pleasant.

There no place for parking, but you can leave a car at the city parking near hotel, or give the keys for a spacial man who will take and return your car.

Clean and neat hotel in a central location.

Hotel room was quite crowded for 2 adults and 2 children. Very narrow and steep staircase but fortunately we were in room 1!!

The Location, how friendly there staff were.

The hotel was so clean, room was little bit small but comfortable and have a nice channel view. Location is just the perfect, close to the centre (that you can reach to the hotel from centre by walking) but nıt that much in centre like this you can be away from crowd, noise and dirt of the centre.

Stairs could be larger but I learned that it is like this in all classical Amsterdam buildings.
