The price should be the only reason to choose this hotel. The breakfast is decent and more above the hotel condition. Cleanliness is very poor, bathroom a disgrace, shaky ceilings, bar very expensive, etc |

Peaceful, we were on a cycling weekend and I was far enough away from city noise but easy to cycle into town and our bikes were safe |

The room was very inexpensive so I was not expecting very much. However, I was very pleasantly surprised how great this hotel really was. The room was quite large and comfortable and the bathroom was fine too. The lobby of the hotel was also quite nice and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. |

The value of my hotel room was definetly worth its money. Other than that, I have nothing extraordinary to share. Some of the staff could have a little change of attitude, and cleaning carts could be less visible during the early morning/day/evening in the hallways |

Service is fast. During my fist stay, I requested for extra night but they offered me euro 65euro with a room no. 001, room is in bad condition, can;t believe they dare to offer this room at this rate. |

It is fairly close to the city center. One can take either the metro or the train. The service was not very nice. The people at the reception are slow and not helpful to solve problems. And we got cleaning saff entering our room at 9.30 am even if we had until 11 to leave the room. That could be very annoying as well. |

location is just great: 3 mins to train and in total just 15 mins to get to Amsterdam heart smell. the hotel is very old. some people were smoking in the rooms ;) |

Staff was nice. Everything else. Breakfast is ok'ish in a room that looks like my 3rd grade cafeteria. The walls of the room are paper thin so all the drunken guests coming from the city wake you up immediatly. The shower had a glass window to the room (what is that all about ?). The hotel is right by the highway and far from center. The list goes on and on |

the check in staff were nice the bathroom was absolutely disgusting - really dirty - I asked to change rooms and the next room was slightly cleaner but had a broken toilet cistern! |

we traveled around europe for a month or so, and HEM was the best hotel for money by far. very nice room, friendly staff. We even came back later in the month to stay again! Was a little bit further out of town than I would have liked, but now that we know how nice the room is, we will return if we ever come back to Amsterdam. |

Stuff friendliness and the fact that everybody speaks english. Hotel is 30 mins far away from downtown, near the high ring, but it's worthed.Rooms are big enough and they have a nice garden outside |

They offered one of the best rate room in Amsterdam, and they are well-known although they are located slightly outskirt of city center. One of their staffs in the kitchen was very rude, he refused the offer to give me free hot drinking water (while there's no water-boiler/kettle in the room). The design of bathroom is quite poor, the water can get easily flooded on the bathroom floor in no time when showering. |

Breakfast is nice It’s necessary to fix a bathroom as it’s not possible to use and a smell from this room is so bad that it’s not possible to sleep. You could try to find a dead cat and smell will be a similar. |

Clean, breakfast The glas wall in the shower out into the room. I did not like showering when people could see me. Also the shower flooded over after just one shower. The water was always hot after turning it off and to avoid flooding we turned the water off during showers. |

It's a cheap hotel - that's all good about it. The room was horible, not in the same building as the hotel, but opposite it where there are no security and whatsoever. Everything in the room was very old. Please note, if you are couple-there are 2 separate single beds. Bathroom light did not work. Mirror in the bathroom was very high, you have to be 2 metres high to see your face in the mirror ( I am 1.68). |
