Hotel Hestia  

Staff and location were great.

Shower fan made to much noise when bathroom light was turned on. No kleenex in room.

Good location. Short walk to Leidseplein and Museumplein. Has (small) lift.

Very small single room and bathroom with very dated furnishings and European style toilet.

Location.Near to a busy sqare but in a quiet location.

The small double room we had could only be described as a single room with a double bed in it As the bed was up to a wall I had to shuffle across the bed to reach the far side.

Can be very noisy during nights [thin walls and banging doors all the times]. We had small room but we did not know that the toilet is going to be very small as well [the smallest toilet I have ever seen]. Overpriced. We paid 330 Euros for 3 nights which is equivalent of monthly wages in some European Union countries.

I enjoy a hot beverage in the evening, (especially when it's frigid outside) but it was quite expensive to order room service. A hot pot for tea and instant beverages in the room would have been nice.

Location is fantastic for both Vondel Park and the nightlife of Leidesplein. Hotel is very clean, the staff helpful and courteous. Plenty of brochures for activities advice and discounts provided by reception staff. Breakfast room is light and airy with a good selection items in continental style breakfast.

Shower temperature and pressure was very unstable. The lift, which is certainly necessary when carrying luggage etc, due to the very steep and narrow stairs, is extremely slow and small. Sound insulation between rooms is quite poor.

It was in general an ok hotel. Location was a bit outside, but definitely very accessible to everywhere with tram and also not too far on foot. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet, so that is a plus. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the breakfast was adequate.

The rooms are small and the walls very thin, so you basically get to share the joys and sorrows of your fellow travelers. The hotel staff were wide-ranging, some very nice and helpful and some the exact opposite, couldn't care less about your questions or concerns.

I felt safe as a mum travelling alone with my 15yr old son! He felt at home too! We both felt very welcome! We were out of town a tiny bit but 5mins on the tram was all it took to get to the centre! For me this was good as it added to my feelings of safety! We loved Amsterdam and the hotel hestia! We will be recommending it and hopefully returning :)

Very friendly staff, helpful and willing to think "outside of the box". Breakfast was a nice option and I enjoyed it every morning. Location excellent.

Single room was a bit small, but upgrade was not a problem.

The location was very good. the room was small but comfortable. It wasw a bit noisy at night. It was wondrful to have a lift. the breakfast was good also.

they did tack on an extra fee for using a credit card. They did not say they were going to do that and I do not like surprises.

We had a small room - which is fine for the three nights we stayed - next time we will book a larger room for a longer period.

A bit difficult to find. I spent around 45 mins even though I was in a radius of 400 m from it. The map on thier web page needs to be a bit more detailed.

A . friendly welcome, which lasted during our stay. A small courtyard garden which we made use of for smoking and tea/coffee which can be ordered from reception. Parakeeps visit the garden and the hotel cat lies in wait to catch it, which it did during our visit! Nice and quiet location, near the Vondle park so great for cycling and walking when the weathers nice

Convenient position, friendly staff, rather compact room but ok for a long weekend.

Its very quiet but also very close to the central! The park is very nice to relaxe and the people there are really nice.

Its quit expensive...
