Location Cost Free parking on site The laughs we had because the 'hostel' was so bad!!'
Awful decor from 1960s Dangerous electrics and loose topped glass table Office chairs as comfortable seating in room Poor quality breakfast-dried bread/cheese Intermittent wifi Paper thin walls -we could hear people upstairs chatting and when they used the facilities!!
the location was good enough, close to downtown Noordwijk an zee
1-shower clogged 2-bed really uncomfortable 3-definitively not well kept 4-one morning I had the impression that I was the only guest in the Hotel and coincidently scrambled eggs and fresh pancakes were missing...
friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast, good value, quiet location, free parking, walk to beach and boulevard
rooms shabby, carpets old, bathroom old
Great hotel staff, always ready to help, free wifi and great location.
The TV is really small and old with bad signal.
Nice location close to centre. Nice spatious room with balcony. GREAT staff that jump through high hoops to help the guest's stay be the best it can be. Dank U well!
Room 14 in the annex has unacceptable Wifi quality. Some things could use a bit of a renovation (e.g. toilet flush plate). coffee maker or a/c would be nice but can't be expected in this price range.
It operates fast and in ghost-like manner (you do not see anybody)
The hotel is a little "worn out" It would need a refreshment/renovation
Good breakfast, nice sea-facing views from the top floor, short walk down the hill to reach the sea front (5-10 minutes) or shuttle bus stops to ESTEC. Good value for money and acceptable wifi. Peaceful night's sleep.
Clearly dated rooms, beds and bathroom. All clean, but would benefit from some refurbishment and updating.
noisy due to the very thin ceiling.
Good value for money. Friendly and helpfull staff. Good location. Good breakfast. Safe parking. Wifi.
the lack of comfort of the hotel
Location and breakfest
Comfort of bed
atmosphere . owners are the staff . this is a 70's hotel, but exeptionally well preserved . properly educated pets are wellcome . breakfast is plenty and tasty. beach is at a few minutes walk . it takes less than 20 minutes drive to Keukenhof gardens .
parking is a bit too tight . can hear people noises from next room .
The people that welcome us were very nice
The mattress of the bed were not good for a good rest
Broken bed Window stucked Dirty dishes Poor breakfast
We chose the hotel simply because it was only a few miles away from Keukenhof and not for its proximity to the beach. Although it was out of season there were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, and the one we chose was a real gem. We arrived late on the first evening after a long journey but the owner was expecting us and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The room and ensuite facilities were clean and the bed comfortable; and the breakfast was better than we have come to expect with budget accommodation. In all we felt safe, secure and comfortable.
The basin taps in the ensuite shower room could not be fully turned off and dripped continuously - not really a problem for us but the owners might want to see to this. The radiator in the bedroom took some time to heat up and even then was not very hot, so the room was a little on the chilly side, although we slept well. The hotel is a bit dated and the public parts - especially the stair carpet - are a bit shabby but this was not a major issue for us bearing in mind the value for money
Location Friendly staff Breakfast
Its a little bit older and has the "old" smell in the hall.
Price was Great value for the money, compared to everything else available
Good value for money. Good location. Good breakfast. Safe parking. Wifi worked
Beds are a bit soft.
hotel with a character, quite old, but we liked the ambience. Staff nice. Value for money. Parking available.
bathroom bit crammed and could do with improving sanitary fittings. Wifi in the extension didn't work, but in the main building, it was fine.
The hotel awaits repair.
BREAKFAST WAS GOOD STAFF VERY HELPFUL NEEDED A KETTLE WAS GIVEN ONE RIGHT AWAY
ROOM WAS DIRTY DROPPED PHONE BEHIND BED PULLED IT OUT OLD SWEETS DUST ETC, BEER BOTTLE IN CORNER, 2 SHAMPOOS & 1 SOAP TO LAST THREE DAYS FOR 2 PEOPLE, 2 MATTRESSES ON BED WHICH WAS NOT VERY GOOD ROLLED INTO MIDDLE
Friendly staff Balcony Breakfast included Good location Free parking
Hotel somewhat rundown Wallpaper coming off walls Balcony door lock broken No TV signal (not hotels fault?) Noise from other rooms
The location was great! Close to the beach, close to Keukenhof, close to Amsterdam…close to lots of things! It's walking distance to the beach, lots of restaurants, other hotels and inns, and right near a pedestrian shopping area which is very nice! The owners were on site, working hard and making us feel at home. Breakfast is fantastic! If leave hungry, it's because you didn't eat here! This is a good, safe, clean place to stay near to everything. I would recommend Hightop Hotel highly to everyone! Someone else had complained about the beds being too soft, but that was a key reason we chose to stay here. We do not regret that choice! Yes, the beds in our family room were softer than your average hotel. Our son was thrilled the TV worked and he watched a little bit of Sesame Street, Netherlands style! The WiFi worked fine too, with no complaints at all.
There was no hot water attached to the bathroom sink. Not a huge deal, but I prefer to wash my hands using soap and hot water after 'going'! The noise from other patrons was significant at night, but it didn't last and ended before 10pm. The hotel is dated and could use some 'sprucing up' but the value for the money and the location outweighs the issue.
Apple TV provided as alternative was appreciated.
TV and phone never worked for three days
