Locationwise pretty good, 2 minutes away from the Van Gogh Museum and aprox.7 from Leidseplein (walking distance). Before you plan to go to Amsterdam make sure you are well informed about tram ticket prices , buy water/juice straight from the Supermarket (low prices), if you plan to eat out for breakfast, lunch and dinner know that you will spend quite a lot of money, again...check prices..The people are amazing, everyone speaks english and they're very helpful...No aircon at HotelCity Garden, so if you plan to spend some time there, either make sure you go during winter time, if you'll be there during summer...just try to get out as much as possible...otherwise you will die of overheating if your room is on the 3rd floor...another thing would be to mind the elevator, better trust the stairs..bit of exercise wont hurt you anyway. Breakfast consists of: 1 type if cheese, 3 types of ham, boild or scrambled eggs, few types of bread, milk or cocoa, tea, jam, butter and finally 1 type of cereal. Quite okish if you're not into fruit/porridge and honey breakfast :).Easiest way to get from Cetraal Station is to take either tram no 2 or 5 and get off after 2-3 stations from Leidseplein...or ask for directions ..Overall it's a 3 * hotel not 4* as advertised...Anyway, enjoy Amsterdam and don't forget..: do your homework before getting there ..:). the lack of airconditioning...especially on a 30 degrees week-end.. |

I booked a last minute reservation, so the price was great for the timing and location. The location is the best part, next to the park and within walking distance of museums and shops. The room looked fantastic, beautiful sheets and furniture, and very comfortable bed. I loved the ac in the room too, which was necessary since I was next to a furnace. Huge shower stall for big people. Claustrophic. I mean, really small, even by Amsterdam standards. Barely room to turn around. Laying in bed is the only option for lounging in the room. Also, I was in the dungeon next to the furnace. I had to blast the ac just to make it tolerable. And there was definitely a large rodent running in the ceiling space which woke me up repeatedly at night. |

Though very near to the centre, the hotel is situated in a very quite area, you can walk through Vodelpark instead of the streets so it is very relaxing. The hotel is easily reached by tram. |

The location was perfect for us. The city sights and attractions were easily within walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was good (hot coffee drinks, meats, cheeses, pasteries, juices, milks, fruits, yogurt). No A/C in the room. |

It is centrally located. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Room facilities are good. The mini safe in the room was not functioning. There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang up clothes and used towels. A room freshener in the bathroom would be welcome |

The breakfast was very nice! Only had one computer available for guests to check email and thought the cost of the wireless was kind of expensive... 5 euros per hour. other places were 2 euros per hour. |

Clean and very good location (next to the Van Gough Museum) covers the basic needs. Reception is a bit clumsy and stubborn. Attitude from reception |

Good location, five minutes from museums and tram stop to Central Station. Next to a park. Quiet area. 30 minute walk into the city centre. Price, 110 euros per night for a single room was too high for an hotel with no facilities other than breakfast room . |

Good location in the city, near public transportation, museums, parks, kanals. Quiet street. Walking distance to the city center. Towells with wholes, bathroom without ventilation or window (single room on the third floor), thin walls so you can hear your neighbours speaking. |

The room was romantic rather than small, the breakfast was included that was fantastic and made the stay very cost effective. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. My partner and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to the staff. Only one computer for access to internet, which at times you had to wait a very long time to check train times and check other hotel bookings and email. |

Breakfast is not bad, but the price is little expensive for the room we got. I guess it's because the location is next to park and museum. comfort of room |

Basic, no frills service - what you see is what you get. Breakfast is plentiful if basic, location is quiet, good tram links to centre, right next to Vondelpark very handy for Van Gogh Museum The rooms can be somewhat, erm, compact. There are rooms on the ground floor close to breakfast room as well as in the basement with low ceilings. However, the rooms are adequately equipped and function well. Don't expect 5 star product for 2 star price. |

The staff were very helpful. The hotel was well located for shopping and restaurants. Amsterdams famous museums were close by. Rooms at front of hotel were a little noisy, but not as bad as where we were before. |

We did not expect to find a ticket for parking our car on the street by the hotel. There were no signs and no one at the hotel told us that the parking on the street by the hotel is metered. Ended our trip to Amsterdam on a sour note. |

We got a special offer for a 5 person room, for a good price, no refundable. The problem was that the room was very nice, huge, but it was right under the kitchen and the breakfast room. 5H in the morning sounded like there was an army trope, with horses, marching above our head. |
