The receptionist Kelly was fantastic, a very kind lady! She was the only one that on her own accord gave us a map and directions on what to see and where to go. Very good person to talk to. Look out for her in the late afternoons - even though toilets are shared and small they were clean - kitchen area with stove, microwave and hot water with tea and coffee all day
-breakfast is minimal but okay on most days - WiFi was not very stable
Friendliness of staff
breakfast all the same everyday and no many choices. one boy staff is not polite and friendly. the room looks rough. wifi need to log in by facebook every time
The staircase is dangerous especially for small children. The time limit access of the internet. Shower with no door.
Comfy bed, warm room, nice staff, great breakfast, good location, newly renovated toilets and bathroom; would definitely go back.
Wifi connection was annoying - had to check into the hotel on Facebook every few minutes which was really annoying. It would be much better to just to give out a password to customers.
Good and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
We stayed for four nights and not once was the room cleaned or at least the trash taken out
If your young and want a good stay in Amsterdam with good facilities then this is the place for you! Staff are real friendly and helpful!
Good staff but very poor condition. Expensive but it is amsterdam and csnt blsme them. It is good for one quick night if you don't have any other option.
Mostly because poorly cleaned and low quality break fast.
Stuff is very helpfully and friendly.
The reception guy was very nice. Also, free tea whenever you want is another good thing. The location was excellent and everything was quiet at night.
Well.. First of all it's more of a hostel, except for the price which was too high for what it offered. There were hairs on the pillows when we arrived. Went for a shower and the bedroom below us got flooded due to a broken pipe. WiFi access is horrible and it stops to work every 15min, thus you need to keep reconnecting. It's a good hostel for the average youth who goes to Amsterdam to experience the coffee shops and the rld and just really need to sleep (poorly). If you plan to know Amsterdam better and with more comfort, go for another option.
Hotel staff were great .......there if you needed anything but not "in your face". Facilities were all very clean and in working order. Would deffo go back again
Nothing negative to say
Unfriendly staff. Hostel, not a Hotel. The one toilet existing on that floor, although it was clean, it was not ventilated, leaving an unpleasent smell all over the floor. The hostel should renew it's room decorations, as they are old and not taken care of.
It's location, very close to city center. The staff was very friendly and the bathroom was always quite clean to be shared.
Loved the location and the beds, so comfortable!! The description was real and to the point. The heating (winter) and cleanliness good!! Even breakfast was included: amazing value!
The climb to the third floor was a challenge..Didn't want to leave the room after that!! And not a plant inside, but we could see the Hortus from the window
The shared shower with HOT WATER, the breakfast, the atmosphere, the wood, comfortable bed
From 8pm until 11pm there was not heating system in the room and we were unlucky just because we arrived at 7:30 and the window was open (I put all my staff on). From the late night everything fine.. ByTheWay highly recommended
If you're looking for value for money, you won't find a better place: quiet location, very clean and comfortable room which was well heated (very important in November!) and the free wifi and breakfast is a real bonus. We had a double room with our own shower and found sharing a toilet no problem at all. The perfect place to crash out at night after a day of exploring this amazing city. We had never been before and had no idea what to expect. One member of staff was particularly helpful and took the time to illustrate on a map all of the highlights and secret spots of the city, as well as the dos and don'ts, which we found incredibly useful. For the cheap price, this place exceeded our expectations.
Location near downtown
It is not easy to find it in the night arriving
The staff are super relaxed and the modest, but free, breakfast was very much appreciated. One clean toilet and shower per floor, but never had to wait for anyone. Overall, great value for money.
You could hear -everything- that was going on in the other rooms. The staircase to the top floor is steep and narrow, but also to be expected in Amsterdam. It was just a bit of a struggle with my large bag.
All areas were very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The house itself is probably overdue a refit, although everything worked and functioned as it should. The room was very basic, only one socket two towel hooks for hanging stuff. Breakfast was fresh but very basic.
Warm receiption and always willing to help and advise.
Noise of doors and smoking in rooms
Good location Good breakfast
Steep Stairs Very loud
It is a great little crash pad to base yourself in for exploring Amsterdam - really short walk to everything that you would want to see. Very comfy bed and the room was very very clean. Secure - keys to the door and the street, and also a safe in the room. Breakfast was basic but adequate - no orange juice but it is a budget hotel, so my expectations weren't high.
The wifi connection was intermittent and it was annoying to have to log in and out all the time. But, in the grand scheme of things with so much bad stuff going on in the world, it is was not a major problem.
Room 11 Cold room radiator did not work Poor breakfast / no cheese
