Hotel Artemis Amsterdam  

I really liked the area it was in all you had to do was walk approx. 10 mins to the nearest tram stop and catch tram 2 in to the centre of Amsterdam. I liked it because after a busy day in the centre of amsterdam it was nice to come back to a quiet area. Plus I was only about 20 mins from the airport and was able to catch 195 to and from the airport. Amsterdam and the public transport and this hotel are all wheelchair friendly so I would say if you have someone in a wheelchair go there your friend will never feel like a burden because there are so many people willing to help.

The thing I did not like was the cost of the breakfast but you can eat as much as you wanted and after the first day I ate breakfast in the centre of amsterdam which is much cheaper but it is your choice. I would say that this hotel was all about pleasing there guests.

Meals and drinks where to expensive and it was to far out from the main city. Would not stay there again.

It was close to the tram line and easy to reach the City Center

The fact that the staff kept trying to get us to take the train when the tram was a 5 minutes walk and easier to navigate.

5-10 minuts walk to tram station or metro station. 20-25 mins by train # 5 to the city center. Very calm place, close to airport (10 mins)

It would have been good to have a map which included the hotel and how to get into the city by bus and tram, especially a street map showing directions from Tram 2 back to the hotel. One night after the opera we had to accost a young man on a bicycle to ask for directions to the hotel, then halfway back another man to tell us which fork to take in the park. Never mind, the two of us ladies survived.

It is quiet. The room is big enough, comfortable and nice. Food is good. The staff was very nice. I liked the design. Verye few people during the weekend.

It is visible that it is not new. Very far away from the civilisation: the bus to the airport does not go during weekends - this was a very negative surprise. I had a visitor who paid €39 for a one evening parking, I consider the amount very high.

I stayed at this hotel cause of the deal of the day from booking.com. it turns out the hotel is really NICE, FANCY and LUXURIOUS for the price, its really kind a outskirt of amsterdam. The city tram that pretty much that you can ride on for € 7.50 all day passes a bit of walk like about 1 km. this hotel located strictly in a business disctrict . staff pretty friendly

we left a baby book but too bad they wouldnt return it to us, its a shame cause my baby love that book very much.so make sure dont forget anything otherwise u can forget abt it

Design

We included 2 children in booking.com but the lady wanted to charge additional.

With a security deposit, you can borrow a converter for your electrical needs. Rooms were modern and spacious. Room temps were comfortable. Close to #2 tram which takes you into the city within 15-20 minutes. Tram passes were available at the front desk for purchase (24, 48, 72, 96 hour passes). Located in a quiet business park. Close to the airport, can get a taxi for €25.

Traveling almost 4,000 miles it would have been convenient to be able to check-in early, as they don't even allow 15 minutes. Staff was not rude, but not friendly either. Maid service insisted on cleaning our room, which consisted of making the bed, and that doesn't mean changing the linens! No flat sheet on the bed, just a comforter. Trash was not touched, either. 1 teeny bar of soap for 2 people for a week? Shower door wasn't large enough to keep the water in, so you had a pool of water after showering. Mattress was very thin and made for rough nights. Wish the tv had more than 3 English speaking channels. Rooms next to maids closet tend to be quite noisy in the early A.M. Upon check-out we were being charged for a breakfast we did not attend. Was taken off bill, but in a slighted manner.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was very nice, modern and interesting with the artwork and lobby exhibition. Room was spacious and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in.

Location was quite far from the city centre; but it was easy enough to get to and from via tram.

Good value. Pleasant and helpful staff. Clean and warm room. Did not use restaurant. A little out of town but a ten minute walk to tram stop. Number 2 takes you straight into town. Runs every ten minutes. Great place to stay for a city trip.

I liked how friendly and approachable the staff were.

I have stayed at the hotel before and loved it but this time there were a couple of problems the lamp did not work and the bed was so uncomfortable I was in pain. It was either to hot and when turned down the heating it got so cold I was in even more pain with the cold. The blankets were really thin and I had to ask for extra pillows as there was only one even though there were two of us staying in the room.
