Useful to be in the centre of Haarlem. The beds were comfortable. In an old building so the stairs were very steep and hazardous. Having a room at the front there was quite a bit of noise late at night and even at 03:00 from people in the street. |

Excellent location. The lady who handled the breakfast room and also functioned as the desk clerk was very nice and accommodating. We were not aware that his was primarily a restaurant, and secondarily a lodging place. I wouldn't call it a hotel. There was no lobby and the usual facilities found in most hotels. There was no elevator, and the stairs were very steep. Carrying luggage up and down two flights of these steep stairs was dangerous. There was no fire escape. In case of a fire you are toast. The second day we received no clean towels, as the room was not visited by the cleaning crew. I would not stay here again... |

The location is right in the heart of Haarlem... where the action is, the tender during mornings is great, she is helpful, nice, and fast, good breakfast, but very small room the mini, small, diminute shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom so it is quite complex to take a shower and dress up, and you have to be in good shape for climbing the stairs... anyway its a real holland house |

the only problem was excessive noise on two nights due to revelers, this is probably out of the control of the hotel. the breakfast could have been better |

Handiness, and the breakfast (buffet) was excellent. Room was okay, not bad for the price. Lady at breakfast was very friendly and efficient. Thinness of the walls, and the difficult stairs, though this is normal in traditional Dutch hotels: not good for elderly people! |

i found the location excellent. and i liked the history and charm of the building. the bar and restuaraunt is excellent. clean rooms and bath with some toiletries provided. my bed was too narrow even just for me and i am a very average sized woman. i changed rooms into a shared facilities room and the bed was better than in the private room. did n't make sense to me because the room was more expensive with the old narrow bed. |

Placed in the very heart of Haarlem, at 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. Excelent basis for tourists who want a place to sleep, have a shower and a good breakfast and then go on seeing Holland. It realy lacks an air conditioning sistem. The steps are very steep and for elder people might be a real problem. You can hear through the walls what's happening in the next room. The floor is a little tilted and one can roll on the bed and fell down (my wife almost did it !). |

The hotel was very central, in the beautiful main square. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. It is an interesting building with very steep steps. The rooms at the front of the hotel are very noisy at night due to people out in the square and music from a neighbouring night club, but we asked to move to a room at the back, where it was fine. The staff were very understanding and there was no questioning changing rooms. |

The coffee and the pleasent conversation with the woman that served it in the morning. Three flights of very narrow stairs, with no lift(elevator),which makes the place a fire trap. |

The hotel had a nice "personality" - crooked walls, steep stairs. At first, we didn't think we would enjoy it, but we made it "our own", and it was cozy. Fantastic location, great restaurants everywhere. Hot water was outstanding in the shower. They were upgrading the phone system, so internet was down for our stay. Used the Apple Store just steps away. |
