I spent a week in Groningen, and chose the Hotel de Doelen because of the central location and of the highly positive reviews I had read, and I was not disappointed. In addition to the location - indeed most convenient - I really appreciated the charm of the hotel, the comfort and coziness of the rooms, the courtesy of the staff. The complimentary WI-FI service is now also available in the rooms (although the signal is at times a little dim). I will most definitely be happy to stay there again during my next visits to Groningen. |

It is very centrally located and an ideal base location to explore the city. The room was clean and comfortable The mini bar was poorly stocked and no coffee/tea making facility in the room. Room service also missing. |

It was very central, and convenient as I had a meeting nearby. Although the kitchen just closed, they managed to get me some food as I arrived after 9 PM, that was appreciated. Someone obviously had a cigarette in the bathroom, it stank and there was ashes on the floor. I made the staff aware the following day, this wasn't going to stop me sleeping but it was disappointing none the less. |

Location - just in tha main square. Design inside very nice, very comfortable bathroom in the room. Good price. Bed sheets and towerl heavy worn, breakfest not very people-on-diet friendly. Really bad coffee. |

The hotel staff are always excellent - very friendly and helpful. I really like the traditional design anf features of ther hotel to - lots of dark wood, paintings and books - very pleasent. |

The Hotel is situated at perfect location and staff is very friendly. The window in my room was facing fire escape and that was inconvenient for opening during nigt time. |

The reception was very helpful (I forgot to get the name, but he was a very big guy, with a cheerful countenance). The female was also very helpful. The hotel is very homy. Unfortunately, due to some accident, I was only able to stay for one night, but I do look forward to my next stay at Hotel de Doelen. |

The cheap room that I had (for a fantastic price) was right in the middle of the action, very noisy at night with revellers up until all hours. It would have annoyed me if I wasnt expecting it, but if you cant beat them, join them! If you just want a bed and a shower, get the cheap room at the Doelen. Expect to go out on Friday and Saturdays to join the action. No TV in the room and no clock. |

matig Unfortunately and for the third time in this hotel I/we had to ask for another room. Once the douche was covered with hair, the second time it was cold and this time again: not onle the heating was not working and when we went in bath the bath was leaking...I really find this not acceptable for the price of € 100.... |

Ik vond de ontvangst vriendelijk, het sanitair bijzonder mooi en het ontbijt helemaal prima. Dat niet alle lampen het deden op de kamer en de thermostaatknop van de verwarming stuk was waardoor ik de radiator niet goed kon gebruiken. Ik vond de kamer vrij donker, maar dat kan dus aan de lampen liggen. Ik heb dit 'sochtends niet meer gemeld, vergeten, ik had een beetje haast. |
