Hotel de Doelen  

I am a frequent visitor and am always warmly welcomed. The hotel is central for restaurants, public transport and the university, so easy to do everything without a car

It would be good if the hotel had bikes for hire

Excellent staff, top breakfast (fresh fruit salad), central location but quiet, spacious room & bath****, elevator

Parking garages are a 10-15 min. walk.

It is a hotel that makes you feel confortable, with a very kind stuff. Location is perfect.

No soap dish in the bathroom

hotel has lots of old character, Very tasteful decorated. Attic Silver Room nr. 215 is very cozy and bathroom modern & spacious. Location Hotel in the middle of all the hustle & bustle breakfast ok very clean

Intense banging music from pub until at least 5am - and that on a Thursday. I was glad I was 'sleeping' on the top floor

A lovely traditional building in the centre of a bustling town. The lounge in the hotel was cosy and full of character

Nothing to complain about

traditional family style hotel. Very cosy atmosphere with open fire in lobby. Not a generic chain style hotel.WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN

The elegance of the historic building, the location, and the very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. The vip room's private sauna and jacuzzi were the icing on the cake!

The Groningen Saturday night throbbing bass coming from clubs/bars, which permeates the hotel's walls a bit. Those sensitive to this should bring earplugs.

It's location, Breakfast was ok. The decore was very nice.

Doors had only one lock (but felt secure). There was no security cameras in the hallways. Shower pressure was low, had no hand-held shower for women (must use a cap (provided))? Staff, were a bit slow cleaning up breakfast tables. Only one available at 0900 am?? People from outside (Sat Night) left a mess of food on the steps to the hotel and the staff did not see this coming in the next morning??? Rooms could use 2 more pillows.

Radio in my room didn't work Staff forget to give me a wake-up call - but were very apologetic about this!

Fantastic location in the centre of vibrant Groningen. Comfortable bed and big bathroom,with shower and bath, although the room had only a small window and was up some steep stairs. It was quiet, though. Friendly staff. We were attending the Assen MotoGP and caugh the train from Groningen. Would definitely choose this option again.

first: location is superb - absolutely no doubt. other: noble breakfast room from 18th century, hotel interior, good coffe machine, polite staff, parking nearby, nice suprise as 3* hotel

excellent location.friendly staff. well stocked mini bar.lots of restaurants and attractions just surrounding the hotel.

rooms too dark. very poor lighting (room 215). design of the sloping roof leads to lot of banging of head. staircases too steep. Had to lug 2 large bags and 4 small bags 3 flights of stairs.exhausing. on last day was told a lift was available after all tthe effort was done. should have been told right in the begining.the bathroom had a nice shower and a sepearte tub. bathoom was spacious. But amazingly, no soap dish in the shower. Had to keep the soap or the shower gel on the floor and had to keep bending down to pick it up. TV was too small for the room and sound was low.

The location is very central, in the earth of the old city and breakfast room is pleasant with view of the old church

Breakfast was very poor though the hotel charges a lot for that, the furniture in the room is old and the cleaning of the room not satisfying; I could not leave my dog inside when I was out (which is normal even in more elegant hotels) and at the moment I checked out they charged more than foreseen (they excepted my critic however).

Excellent location, comfortable, large and very clean room and friendly staff.

es fehlte ein deutlicher Hinweis auf die verkehrsberuhigte Innenstadt und darauf , dass die Parkhäuser am Ring benutzt werden sollten, die aber bis 1 km vom Hotel entfernt liegen.
