Hotel Le Roi Maastricht

The room was a nice size and the Hotel conveniently located for the city.

Most of the staff were fine, but the man at reception on Sunday morning July 5th was not very friendly, and told my friend and I that we had not paid for breakfast. I have once again checked my booking and quite clearly we had paid for breakfast some €34 ....but he insisted we had not paid. Therefore we had to go out to find a café for breakfast. By the time we got back to the Hotel it was around 11.45am and the same man then told us off because we had not checked out at 11am. If he had looked properly he would have seen that we had indeed paid for breakfast, and if we had been allowed to have it there then we would have been out by the 11am deadline. I found his attitude unhelpful and he did not even say goodbye when we left. I would also like a refund for the breakfast ...since we were not allowed to have it. Many thanks. The Hotel took my printout of the booking , so I was not able to check about the breakfast until now.

The location of the hotel was very close to the centre of Maastricht and a 2 minute walk from the train station. Also, the hotel had a 24 hour reception which suited our late arrival. The reduced rate was excellent!

tehre was no special safe luggage room (arrive early morning and had to wait for the room)

goede prijs, erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam hotelpersoneel, groot en comfortabel bed

er zijn momenteel grote werken aan de gang zijn in het hotel. dit zorgt overdag voor lawaaioverlast. oordopjes aan te bevelen voor langslapers.

Het Hastings bed.

Hotel ligt aan een van de drukste straten wat busverkeer (en overige) betreft. Geen airco, dus zeer luidruchtig (ook bij gesloten ramen!). We werden 's morgens om 6.45 uur wreed gewekt omdat ze met een grote renovatie bezig zijn en er bijkans een met een pneumatische hamer door de muur kwam. Zeer naar als je een beetje wilt uitslapen na een gezellige avond. Dit hadden de baliemedewerkers bij aankomst wel even mogen melden. In plaats van dat werd ons gevraagd of wij geen gebruik van het champagneontbijt wilde maken á € 17,50 per persoon. Gelukkig niet gedaan, want dan had ik echt uit mijn dak gegaan. Verder een grote stof bende, ook in de kamer en alle afvoerkanalen vol met grote plukken stof etc. (waarschijnlijk oorzaak door renovatie). Wilt u toch in dit hotel verblijven, dan eerst even bellen of de werkzaamheden reeds klaar zijn, anders is het pure ongein.

Goedkope overnachting (het ontbijt niet meegerekend), comfortabel, zonder overbodige luxe.

Kamerdeur slaat veeeel te hard dicht. Ook die van de andere kamers klinken door.
