great location nice canal view friendly staff nice atmosphere
tiny room very poor breakfast price-performance ratio
The location was great, and the staff were very helpful!
The walls weren't sound proof, so you could hear every noise from other rooms. The room was cold! Plus people constantly seemed to leave the main stair door open, so the security was a little lax. Maybe some kind of reminder or the door would be a good idea!
Great hotel, lovely helpful staff, would love to book again
Room 209 needs a little more lighting, when the sun goes down the two lights are not really enough to light the room up.
The room is small but clean.
They charge deposit Extra 50 Euro. This is really bad feeling. And breakfast has nothing to eat.
Perfect location, beautiful lobby and room itself. Very clean, very modern! Good coffee and wine served 24/7
The location The beds The wifi
Small rooms The stairs was very steep No wardrobes, fridge or tea/coffee making facilities
The location was excellent. The hotel was clean, very comfy bed, fantastic hot shower, breakfast adequate. Overall very good value for money. And last but not least the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay again, and wouldn't hesitate recommending to family and friends.
Room layout could have been better as couldn't open curtains without been overlooked. But do understand hotels in Amsterdam are limited for space.
Location and great staff.
You could hear a lot of things from your room.
The decor Free simple breakfast with loaf, coffee, tea and OJ.
My room was located on the ground floor therefore it was a bit noisy
-Price is unbeatable for the location -Close to Amsterdam Centraal train station -Very comfortable XL Twin size bed -Warm comforter and bed sheets (for fall-spring travelers -3 Hangers for jacket or button-downs -Blackout curtains -Room service is convenient and friendly -Check-in and check-out is quick and easy -Nicely decorated lobby with great bartender and drink selection
-No view (window opens up to a closed dark atrium) -Toilet is across the hallway (and not heated)
The location!the hotel is at the centre of amsterdam very near the central train station and dam plein. The rooms are in traditional amsterdams houses! We stayed at the last floor of the canals side and the view was like a dream!Wonderful modern room and bathroom! The staff was wonderful and kind!
breakfast is unbelievable poor!!!!Only coffee, orange juise, bread, butter, honey, marmalade and stillwater with lemon and meant! So if u want just still water you have to go buy!
Great hotel in an ideal location. Fantastic canal view from our modern and clean room.
Two beds together as a double proved problematic as a gap formed in the center over the course of the night.
Really lovely hotel, beautiful rooms (a bit small), amazing location in quiet residential area minutes from all the action. Friendly staff, even gave me birthday wine, cookies and card. Great value. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for good value and not desperate for luxuries like hair dryers and room service.
Steep narrow stairs, not suitable for anyone with bad knees!!
Awesome staff and atmosphere, quirky decor, close to everything, we loved most aspects of our stay!
Tall husband found the bed too small and pillows too hard. Room a bit small but we expected that as we had read reviews!
EXCELLENT STAFF AND LOCATION. NICE ROOM AND DECOR
WALLS ARE PRETTY THIN
The building, the rooms and the staff was great. Also location is excellent.
There wasn't hair conditioner in the rooms and this was a big problem for us. And also there wasn't slippers in the rooms. The room was cold :( Breakfast was poor, there were only cheese, butter, ham and jams. We dont eat hams...
Staff polite and very helpful on arrival, giving directions and best places to go for food and sights to see. Hotel is in a lovely quiet area with beautiful views of the canal and only a 10 minute walk to the station. Cleanliness of the room and hotel itself is spot on! Would defintely recommend the hotel.
I loved our stay. The hotel was incredibly clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and excellent and although the room was small it was very comfortable. Nice room with beautifull canal wiev, stuffed with all necessary interior. The breakfast was also also excellent. Location was perfect for our planned activities as we were able to walk everywhere. Absolutely great hotel to stay it.I would definitely recommend it
Location is close enough to the hustle and bustle but far away enough to be quiet. Nice quirky decor.
Room was tiny even though we booked superior. Could hear everything from the room above and at the side.
Good design..nice area
Small space in room..poor breakfast..
cosy nice neighbourhood nice cafe
no help to take luggage up the tiny stairs rooms much smaller than they seem overpriced for what is offered personnel friendly but ironic
location is great, definitely worth considering a canal view for the extra money. Anne Frank house is about 10 minutes walk away down a scenic route. Staff were very polite 15 minute walk to the station and good restaurants are just around the corner. Good if you want to be close to but not in the busy areas of Amsterdam. Has a distinct character unlike many hotels Highly recommended Breakfast was characterful and what was offered was excellent Being 'chic and basic' it was very good at what it did
Rooms vary, avoid room 201, classed as 'superior' it's dingy with a small window and no wifi access and no desk for 'work' as their website suggests also very loud as it is right next to reception. We asked to move to a different room, the room we were moved to (109) was worth twice as much as the previous room. Limited breakfast options
Loved our trip here, very local to Dam Square and some amazing restaurants and bars. Hotel was very unique and we loved the style. Thanks for making a lovely relaxed trip! Just what we needed.
The staff gave us help and tips with enthusiasm and pleasure whilst not being crowding. The views from our room were magical, reflections, off the canal and typical gabled merchant houses as far as the eye could see. Everything felt within walking distance making it all a great stay.
The staircases to the rooms carrying luggage were steep
