Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff

Room was very basic, expensive considering how far out of the city centre it is, the whole hotel was too warm all the time which meant you had to keep the window open. The trouble with keeping the window open was the huge amount of noise from constant traffic outside.

This property is located no more than a 15 minute walk from Dam Square, and a 25 minute walk from Leidseplein. The hotel had a welcoming reception with friendly staff. The rooms were adequate; perfectly clean and enough space for my luggage without the place looking cluttered.

There was some confusion when checking in. However, the staff were very friendly and efficient in resolving my concerns.

Good value for money- basic, but comfortable; excellent situation on a canal. When in Amsterdam, luxuries are superfluous.

Room 15 was opposite a communal door which clicked annoyingly every time someone went through it

Good location. We had a quiet room. Helpful staff. Luggage storage after checkout.

Lack of tea/coffee in room. Coffee was very poor at breakfast. Fruit salad / prunes would have been a lovely option.

The room is clean and really comfortable. Staffs are helpful and friendly.

The location is not as central as I thoughts.

Staff excellent. Quiet location. Close proximity to atttractions - 5 to 10 minutes walk to lively Nieumarket or Rembrant Squares with good cafes.

Immediate neighborhood is poor.

Everyone was very nice and accomodating. We had made arrangements for 2 people but ended up having 3 people, and they made the changes to the accomodations without a problem. The staff was very approachable and helpful. The breakfast was great and the staff there were so friendly. Clarita in the kitchen staff was very sweet. Our room was kept clean daily. Beds were extremely comfortable. A bit tight for 3 people. Great location.

I would have liked to see some bacon served for breakfast. Conflicting information was given at the front desk re: Electric Taxi to airport , cost to airport, and was told only 2 hours was necessary by one person and the other said 3 hours for international travel was needed. Also we were going to make arrangements for the Electric Taxi the night before but was told it was not necessary and to just come 15 minutes in the morning to make the arrangments. But then they were not available at such short notice. Was told we could submit the VAT tax for the room by one person at the desk, only to find out at the airport this was not true. But the front desk was very nice, just not consistant with the proper information. Would have liked an Ice machine in the lobby.

Nothing extraordinary good or bad for a 3 stars hotel.

1. room size is too small and not comfort for more than 2 people 2. not convenient for transportation : metro is quite far from hotel and during the period tram was out of use

Clean, well sound insulated,"everything working well" , typical value for money Ibis Hotel. Special thanks to Mr Maicon, front desk worker, who went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable.

they gave us the room at ground floor. i couldn't open the window, because my room is in front of the hotel's garden and breakfast saloon. i hate this view... and the hotel's location is not that good. you have to walk more than 15 minutes to dam square or other attraction points.

Room was lovely and staff were all very friendly.. Room was cleaned and tidied every day.

Loved the canal view from the room which was really comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Our hotel booking was muddled up as we were meant to stay@ibis city centre and I dont know if the confusion was with the ibis or booking.com as I changed the bookings to city centre but may have got changed back during card or name changes(but I know it wasnt me) Rooms never got cleaned once in 3days Staff were rather impatient as we didnt speak Dutch Rooms prices kept increasing To stay@city ibis room would be more expensive by €100 which we didnt have per room. The ibis city centre admitted mistake for name Mitchell and gave free breakfast each morning but Harley, Baird and Lambert had to stay@stopera and did not receive any compo or help!!

It was pretty nice and so close to most important squares.

Breakfast should be better and there should be more choises in buffet..

Cant fault the hotel although the street, easy walking distance from the shops & bars.

Street looked a little shabby (building work etc) not really a problem though

Brilliant hotel, staff extremly friendly and helpful. Allowed food and drink in your room with the hotel providing room service. No extra charge for the use of the safe which wasreally useful. Hotel very clean and tidy all in all a 10/10 hotel.

Location a little bit tricky but oncr you get your bearings its a ten minute walk to dam sqaure.
