The City Hotel Amsterdam includes a complimentary breakfast and is just over a quarter mile from the Central Train Station. Its 18th-century building gives the hotel a characteristic atmosphere.

Within walking distance of the Central Train Station and the main attractions, you can find the perfect starting point for exploring Amsterdam.
Score from 1425 reviews Very good
Rho is on the edge of Dam Square, half a mile from Amsterdam Central Train Station. It has free Wi-Fi and the lobby is an impressive Art Deco-style former theater.

Great location, once you find it. Great customer service and large room.
Excellent hotel, 10 minute walk to centre square. Staff very helpful & rooms were very clean - lovely view of the canal from our room also.
Good location Comfy beds Good breakfast Great value for money Free wifi
Having to carry room service to the room ourselves
bed view from the room size of the roof
terrible air con cant open a window shower wasn't good no fridge in the room room was constantly roasting
Staff were very friendly, received a €20 voucher for drinks on arrival as it was my birthday the next day
Very clean, helpful friendly staff, nice bar. Rooms were clean and bed comfy but no tea or coffee making facilities, unless you pay a €15 per night upgrade! Surely tea and coffe making facilities is a basic inclusion!?
I liked the wifi and the cleanliness of the hotel also the food was nice we had pepperoni pizza and chips that was perfect.
Clean, spacious for breakfast & lounge, modern
It's a little bit far from tram stop
Quiet-clean-good location nice view
nice location, easy to find/ clean very good bed nice view
complimentary coffee sticks weren't renewed the first night a bit annoying when other customers slam doors expensive breakfast
Poor breakfast :(
Nice place to stay didn't have a kettle in room for a cup of tea with my cake in the morning haha x
Ibis was perfect fantastic staff. We are not loaded with money but we was a bit worried about what people were saying on related site to ibis. But trust me ... Ibis was fantastic the room was clean . Tv. double bed . Toilet and shower was perfect . My mrs loved it and so did I .
What I didn't like was some of the silly reviews that was made on the ibis hotel they are not true and me and Janet will be there this summer. It was fantastic . Staff 10/10 . Room 10/10 . And I will say to you all that wants a nice room . Nice staff. And everything is around you . From central station to red light and some fantastic restaurants and cafes at a good price it's a must . Ronnie and Janet . Thank you
Location was good, it takes 15 minutes of walking to Dam Square or Central Station. Room was clean, warm. Also Bed was OK. Another good thing was Any kind of smoking was forbidden in Hotel, so we could get rid of that smell that surrounded the city.
I have stayed in other İbis hotels in different countries as well. The room was lacking a minibar, there wasnt any slippers. The hotel gives you a safe warm room and a bed, but thats all.
Free wifi & bed
Pillows, coffee making facilities & no pen in the room
The hotel itself was spotless - the bedroom was clean and tidy, the bathroom was the same. We had a room with a canal view which was lovely. Main lobby of the hotel was wam and friendly. Staff were very helpful on arrival with maps and information. Wifi was high speed should you need to use it. Location is about 10 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal station. There is a good supermarket close by as well. Very quiet at night. Air conditioning was available in the rooms which was a bonus for us! Check-in and check-out was quick and easy.
I always choose this hotel when I stay in Amsterdam because it has good value for money and a good position. Rooms are spacious enough and the bathroom and shower are comfortable. Staff is really helpful and nice.
there are a few small things that could improve the guests' experience: having power sockets close to the beds (to recharge the phones during the night) and better prices at the bar (water is too expensive).
Location was good and everything was in a walkable distance or a short bike ride
The staff didnt let me change money to pay the hotel bills in advance for three days inspite of blocking om card. They seemed Very stuck up on that.
Situated in a fairly central location around 20 minutes walk to the heart of the city. Comprehensive room facilities with friendly efficient staff. Particularly liked the easy to use simple to operate shower. Free use of a computer and printer also a useful added bonus. All added up to a very enjoyable stay.
Only gripe was the cost of the breakfast which seemed over priced. But on a general note purchasing food in a hotel or restaurant did appear to be more expensive than in the UK.
Hotel in a great location! Walking distance to everything, but not too central that it's really busy and noisy.
Rooms and amenities are very basic
The position is good, it is just a 10 minute walk away from the city centre. The shower is very big and there is a bar inside the Hotel.
We had a little issue at check-in with one of the guys at Reception Desk, he was not the friendliest person to be around. On a positive note, the girl working there was very very nice! I also did not like the cheap plastic of the bathroom, which is very small (we were staying in a Twin Room). The phone was not working and the electric sockets are far away from one of the two beds (you know, for when you want to charge your phone and have it next to you for when the alarm goeas off...)
Location, cleanliness, friendliness/support of staff, knowledge of English language, rapid response to complaint, breakfast etc
can't think of any
Helpful friendly staff
No kettle in the room
Looking out on the water
