Because the hotel is located in a square with a lot of pubs and clubs there was a little noise from revellers! Nothing too off-putting.

I mostly like the location of the hotel in the center of Amsterdam. Also the rooms` style is very nice.

The hotel promises rooms to be ready at 8 am. It was not very good that our room was not ready until 13:00.

Very central, just off Rembrandtplein. Doesn't look much from the entrance but the room was great. The girl who checked us in was very helpful. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Nothing to dislike though the stairs are a bit daunting... But that's what to expect in an Amsterdam house.

The room was very clean and spacious, and the staff was very friendly. Location is perfect, with the best clubs bars and restaurants and city attractions within walking distance, or a small tram ride away (Tram stop very close to hotel). Free wifi with a good connection is also available. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, and will probably stay here again in the future.

Staying on the top floor did mean there were quite a few steps to climb, but we got used to them after a couple of days.

The location was perfect for exploring the city on foot - we walked everywhere! Our room was very clean and comfortable and we found the staff extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. Remember to bring earplugs, as the noise from the nearby bars goes on until the early hours of the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

The location of the hotel was excellent.

The room was a lot smaller than we expected.The pillows were as hard as rocks.

The room was far beyond our expectations; it was styled like an upscale Manhattan apartment rather than a hotel room. It's obvious that a lot of work went into designing the room and making us feel at home. Cleaning service was consistent and always on time. We also had no problems with noise level, even being above the busy Rembrandtplein party square.The management was very personable; Peter would always offer us tips on day trips, where to eat (thanks for the pancake house tip, it was awesome), and how to generally get where we were going. It's also nice to meet a fellow New Yorker outside of the city!

The stairs were narrow and steep, but that's not the hotel's fault so much as it is an Amsterdam tradition.

The hotel was right in the centre, the room was very clean, the wifi was free. Also there was freeview on the tv, including some uk channels, which was good whilst the olympics were on.

The hotel didn't have an iron which would have been useful, breakfast wasn't served in the hotel for some reason, although the tables were laid out.

Staff is very Friendly. I felt like at My own home. Rooms are clean and spacious. Wi-Fi was very good. Tram station is just a few steps away, Nice restaurants and everything you need is very close.

Can be a a noisy neighborhood. But I was so tired every evening that doesn't bother me at all. I slept like a baby every night.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in June. The staff were very helpful when needed. Some people have commented that the owner is not very approachable. That is far from the case, he is just a little bit old school, and if you yourself are the type to not take people as they are, you may not bond with him as we did. We asked advice on the trams and getting about and he was more than willing to spend as long as it took to help. The location is fantastic. It's just off Rembrandt Square which has some great bars, restaurants and cafes, the no.9 and 14 tram stop on the square and it's directly between Dam Square and Leidesplein making everywhere easy to get to. People complain about the steepness of the stairs, but you will soon discover that this is how the buildings are in Amsterdam and it's no big deal. Room was very clean, bed extremely comfy. The hotel does not pretend to be 5* and the price reflects that. But it's great value for money. Clean, cosy, comfortable and a fantastic location.

Breakfast was basic, but to be fair, this is advertised on their website so we knew we wouldn't be eating there.

The staff were really helpful, as soon as we arrived the lady on the front desk showed us around and gave us a map to help with our trip. Throughout our stay we felt very welcome. The room was perfect for us, not too big not too small, very clean and had everything we needed. With breakfast as well the hotel is great for a short trip and is very well priced.

The room we had downstairs was directly next to the street which unfortunately became very loud on a Friday night/early morning. Not a fault of the hotel, but more a point to consider if you get this room!

The location was perfect, near the Rembrants plein. There is no lift in the hotel, because the building is old, but it's ok. The stuff was very friendly. And above all, the room was really big in relation to Amsterdam's hotels. So if we visit Amsterdam next time, we definitely choose this hotel.

This was exactly what we were looking for! Location couldn't have been better. We walked out the door and we were in the middle of all the fun, great restaurants, shopping, bars, and activity of Rembrandtplein. From our hotel we walked all around the city easily. The friendly owner and his son were there to offer us good advice on where to go, what to eat, how to get around on the public transportation. To get there: We drove to Gaasperplas on the outskirts of Amsterdam, parked in the Park and Ride (Euro 8 a day which included free tickets to and from the city center), got on the Metro to Centraal Station, and took Tram 9 right to the hotel. It was so easy to do (since parking is limited and expensive in the center of the city.) The room was very nice; clean, charmingly decorated, nice Jacuzzi shower, and super comfortable bed.

Because we were in the middle of the action it was noisy outside with the window open at night, but this did not bother us; we enjoyed sitting on the window seats and watching the street below to take in the scene. With the window closed it is not so noisy, and there is a fan to keep you cool (no A/C.) However if you are bothered by noise, be forewarned...this is the heart of Amsterdam and it is not quiet here. Also there are stairs to climb so probably not the best choice for older people or those who have trouble with stairs. For the price we could not have picked a better place to stay; we will definitely go back!
