The staff were very friendly and happy to help! There were unlimited free coffees and hot chocolates at reception, 24 hour front desk that you could book all your tours from and hire bikes. We couldn't have been in a better location, we went every where by foot, museums were around the corner, as was Vondel Park. The longest walk was 25 minutes to the centre of the Red Light District. The triple room was large, the beds were quite squishy but comfortable, the bathroom had a ton of space it was perfect for our short stay!
We accidently left an item behind which the staff notified us a out promptly by email. They are mailing it to us. The staff are fabulous, we liked the room and the area of town. Nice that there is a non smoking policy for the rooms and lounge.
Good location & 5 mins from the airport express bus stop (no.197). Large room & bathroom. Very clean & airy. decent continental breakfast.
the shower drain smelt of sewage occasionally. the staircase to the breakfast room is quite steep & very poorly lit.
Please do not clean the bath towels everyday. If the guests put the towels on the ground they like a new one otherwise not.
Small room, could be better cleaned
Nice staff and good location.
Very small room, window is located in the ceiling! bad smell in the toilet, not comfortable matress
Good staff, very kindly. Free coffee for guests. Well located, near main points. Supermarket right beside the hotel.
There were no fridge in the room.
The staff, location and cleanliness were very good.
We had booked in the basement level as there are no elevators in the building, but the stairs to our room were a little difficult to negotiate. Also, we found the mattresses a little soft. The bathroom, however, was very clean and bright.
Lots of things to do nearby.
Skylight window which woke me early due to no curtains.
Clean and comfortable Good location for exploring Amsterdam Bus 197 straight from the Airport to Leidseplein and 5 minute walk to the hotel.
Wi-fi is free but a bilt slow and unstable
location, staff, breakfast and facilities
shower was very low on pressure, there was a small step at the entrence to the bathroom that made us fall a few times and the toilet brush cleaner looked like they haven't changed it since the dawn of time.
Great location close to Museumplein, Leidsaplein, Vondelpark and other sites. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The room was pretty small for a twin and the view from the window wasn't great. We were in a corner room at the back of the hotel. I would request not being put in this room as I am sure the other rooms would have had a better view and would probably be a little larger. There was no fridge in the room but the staff kindly brought ice to our room when asked. Other than that, was an enjoyable stay.
Staff were lovely and very helpful. Free hot chocolate in reception was gorgeous. I booked the small triple room as this was all that was available but was very impressed with how big it was. Was very clean also and beds comfy. Would definitely recommend.
Breakfast was very busy, unless you get it included in package price would be more tempted to use local cafe.
The free coffee machine and the wifi..
There is no elevator and the rooms begin only on the second floor so you need to climb on the terrible stairs with your suitcases at least to the second floor before you reach your room. We stayed 3 nights and not even once our room was actually cleaned. They folded our towels and made our bed but didnt change nor the sheets nor the towels even once, when we wanted to use the towels they were wet from the other night. We got a room with two beds even though we asked for one double sized. The matresses were too soft and not comfortable that we literally fell between them and our backs were hurt on the next morning. The floor was never cleaned and one time we didnt get toilet paper. The room is dark and the lights in the room are poor, you need to turn on all the small lights to see something
Nice, spacious room
It was very far away from the train station, the subway station and the trolley stop. We had to walk several minutes to each public transportation place.
We are a young couple and we made the reservation with booking com for a deluxe twin room (139 euro). When we checked-in, we were told to pay immediately and we were given a room inside the breakfast area, in the souterain, next to the kitchen and with a window on the tables of the breakfast area. We immediately asked to change room, but we were told it was not possible as the hotel was at its full capacity. We spent a very uncomfortable night and morning, with a lot of noise starting at 7 in the morning! The morning after we complained again, and the lady at the reception (which at least proved to be kinda helpful this time) told us that she would have talked with the front manager for a reimbursement. At the end, we received the 'big' amount of 20 euro instead of receiving the true amount which differentiated the two types of room (57 euro). The only thing we appreciate is that the manager apologized with us for the inconvenience with an email....but of course it is not enough.
good location next to local bars and restaurants and a short walk into town
no where to put clothes except a small wardrope no drawers or shelves
Very easy to get to, easy tram connection to the city centre.
The mattress (and pillow) was incredibly soft, if you like a soft mattress you will be very happy, sadly for me it was too bouncy to be able to enjoy a good night's sleep.
Size of room - spacious Close to public transport Saturday breakfast
Friday breakfast - very busy and staff member not clearing tables when guests finished so we set up our own table and moved her paperwork to one side.
Liked that the Old Stables theme had been maintained throughout the decor. Location to transport especially convenience of bus stop to airport. Friendly helpful staff and garden view from room.
Getting luggage up narrow stairway steps but hey that's typical for Amsterdam!
Very good location.
No fresh air in the room for 1 week, window could not be opened. Not enough cleaning of the room.
Central location Not too noisy helpful staff comfy beds very good shower
Large spacious room for a family of 4. Good tram links to city centre.
Could've been cleaner, TV not working, sink was blocked. Neon fire exit sign in room was lit all night.
good geographic position in the city
The room was very small for 2 persons, and not luminous - so a little bit gloomy. It was impossible to open the window, so the ventilation was necessary, but very very noisy. Last, the staff was not very friendly.
