This hotel is in a quiet residential area, just under a quarter of a mile from Leidseplein. Best Western has free Wi-Fi and rooms with cable TV, less than a 5-minute walk from Vondelpark.
Score from 971 reviews Good 7.7/10
good location next to local bars and restaurants and a short walk into town
no where to put clothes except a small wardrope no drawers or shelves
Very easy to get to, easy tram connection to the city centre.
The mattress (and pillow) was incredibly soft, if you like a soft mattress you will be very happy, sadly for me it was too bouncy to be able to enjoy a good night's sleep.
Liked that the Old Stables theme had been maintained throughout the decor. Location to transport especially convenience of bus stop to airport. Friendly helpful staff and garden view from room.
Getting luggage up narrow stairway steps but hey that's typical for Amsterdam!
Very good location.
No fresh air in the room for 1 week, window could not be opened. Not enough cleaning of the room.
Central location Not too noisy helpful staff comfy beds very good shower
Large spacious room for a family of 4. Good tram links to city centre.
Could've been cleaner, TV not working, sink was blocked. Neon fire exit sign in room was lit all night.
good geographic position in the city
The room was very small for 2 persons, and not luminous - so a little bit gloomy. It was impossible to open the window, so the ventilation was necessary, but very very noisy. Last, the staff was not very friendly.
Located in a high class neighborhood. Walking distance to museums, and restaurants. Renovated, spacious room. Concierge was very friendly and helpful.
Amsterdam hotels are generally terrible. But this was a very positive exception: the staff is kind, the room was spacious, clean and quiet. And it did not break the bank (for Amsterdam standards). Would definitely recommend
There was nothing I did not like.
Location was okay.
Expected better service and more warmth from staff.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, bike hire was relatively cheap.
The air conditioning in our room didn't work for the first night but they moved us to a new room after
I liked the location and the free hot chocolate! The bathroom was spacious which was great.
No free breakfast.
Very helpful staff, helped with any questions I had and also offered advice. Lots of facilities in the room such as TV, AC, hairdryer, on-demand iron. Free coffee in the lobby! I know this might sound unimportant, but it's a great little thing that made us enjoy our trip even more, especially when heading out in the morning. Location is also very nice, near the popular Leidseplein, and a short 15 min tram/bus ride to the city center.
Wi-Fi was off occasionally, but it was usually up again in a matter of minutes.
Very friendly personnel, stable Wi-Fi, convenient location and good transportation facilities, clean rooms, air condition
The room could be bigger for 3 adults, not enough space for closes in the wardrobe (again for 3 adults), no any small cupboard(s) for small things
-The location. -The room was nice and tidy.
-I would choose another hotel if I went back to Amsterdam. The breakfast was not that good - very mouldy bread one day and stale another. Not much to chose from. The bed was very very soft and the shower head broken, but not fixed even though we commented this.
The location was ideal for exploring Amsterdam and within easy reach of the beautiful Vondelpark. The triple room we had was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was an added bonus.
Could have had more storage space available for a triple room. Our room was classed as a 'garden room' as I guess that was because it was on the ground floor! No garden - our view was an open small yard where the linen was stored (outside by the way)! Bikes were parked against our window and staff used the space for their smoke break. We had to keep our curtain closed all the time for privacy.
Decent size room for Amsterdam. Free coffee at reception - a definite bonus.
Room windows cannot open - so it is only air-conditioning and room can become a bit stuffy. Breakfast variety very limited, e.g. only one kind of cheese - and that for the cheese making country!
The facilities look quite new and clean. The single room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Being close to Leidseplein, which is well communicated with other parts of the city, makes it a perfect place for either business or leisure.
Nice beds and cute pictures of the horses. Next to a nice lunch place Perfect location
When we arrived they told us that there's 24h reception and no problem to get in and out of the hotel in the night. So that night when we were tired and just wanted to go to sleep, around 2.30am, we were greeted by 20 other tourists that were forced to wait outside to get in the hotel. There was a sign on the window that the doorman was "out of office for 15 min.".We stood outside waiting for him for 45 min. before he finally opened the door!!! VERY BAD SERVICE for a three star hotel. Also there were no soaps in the washing room to wash your hands.. Breakfast was not so big and located in the basement (where it smelled) No elevator!! Small rooms and you can't open a window!
Great location, staff friendly and helpful,Annabel checked us in and out couldn't have been nicer. Clean, every thing the advert said
Great location near Leidse Square and bus connection (number 197) straight from the airport to Leidse Square. 10 minutes walking to Dam Square and little bit less to Kalverstraat (lots of shopping there!). It was easy to rent bikes from hotel.
no elevator, very small room
Room ok but in new part, check which area you' re in if you're looking to stay in. An authentic "European Hotel"
Breakfast croissants and bread left over from yesterday, not fresh which is unusual for an European hotel.
smelly rooms, fool of spiders
