“The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for what we wanted with a garden setting where we held business interviews. It was near the canals and resturants.”

Clean and comfortable euro-style beds. Good euro-style breakfast. I think it's in a good location, quiet and walking distance from most attraction. A few different buses stop nearby. The rooms for singles all seem to be on the top floor. Which is 3 floors up for europeans and 4 floors up for americans. No elevator.

It was a really good stay no problems. The room was clean, the towels changed daily, and the room was cleaned every day. One thing I really loved is that they serve the breakfast until noon, so you dont have to wake up early in the morning to eat.The hotel is just in front of the heineken factory, and it's like 20 minutes walking from the central station. We dont really have any problems.... You have to pay for the internet but it's really cheap 5 euros for the entire stay, so it's not really a big deal.

Good location. While not in the most centralised location, it is close to trams, so you can get to Central Station/Dam/Other attractions in no time. Very quiet neighbourhood. Room was clean and ready upon early arrival, and even when bathroom is shared, it was still clean every time I used it. Internet @ €5 per stay is reasonable, fast and steady connection. Breakfast was decent. Very friendly staff, helpful as well. Steep stairs, no elevator but expected for old buildings in Amsterdam. Wall's kind of thin, could hear neighbour's TV/music/chatting.

The hotel was easy to find in a quiet little street in Amsterdam, near the musem quarter and not too far from the city centre. The tram lines were the best mode of public transport and the stops to a couple of lines were close to the hotel. The checking in hotel staff was very friendly and helped us to find our bearings and gave good advice on the main city attractions. WiFi was made available at a very reasonable rate and requests for boiling water for tea and coffee were entertained. The breakfast offering was above average. The hotel is located in an old building and the acoustics to the rooms are poor. We were kept awake by people booking in late and settling in in the rooms above us. Timber floors throughout did not help and the narrow width of the timber stairs were unforgiving on any sounds created by arriving and departing hotel guests. Although we were not expecting much for a budget hotel in Amsterdam, the bad acoustics in this hotel was a real problem for this family. Ear plugs are recommended.

Location was super, very close to the Rikes museum. Missed having an elevator..very steep stairs. Seemed to have lots of part- time people at the desk. Small invoice issues were not resolved.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was almost perfect. You can go to city centre and central station from the hotel in 5 minutes by tram. The tram station is near the hotel. Cleaning and breakfast was wonderful. Room was small but usefull and clean. Common toilet was also good and clean. Stairs :(

The staff was helpful. I can't really say more, since I stayed at another hotel (see negatives). The others said breakfast was great. Superb location too, very close to Heineken brewery. Wifi is not free. They made a mistake and booked only one room instead of the two I requested, and part of our company had to stay at another hotel. However, the kap staff was very nice and they helped us.

Great location (a little south of the main city centre, nicely away from things and quiet, but not far to walk to get anywhere), very cheap for a private room in Amsterdam, friendly staff (particularly the lady who was serving breakfast and running the desk until 3pm on the days I stayed), quiet and relaxing, breakfast was fine (bread and rolls with one type of cheese, three types of meat, cereal, yoghurt, coffee - the usual) It's a budget hotel and the rooms do feel like it. Bed was hard and uncomfortable and room / shower looked a little worse-for-wear. But it is very cheap and for that kind of money in Amsterdam, it does the job (especially given the great location). A few things to watch out for - my room had its own shower but a shared toilet (the website was clear this would be the case, but I hadn't read it properly), the wi-fi was 5 euros for the stay (again, the website said there was a charge but I missed it) and credit card payments are 5% extra (the website did not say this...)

Easy access to public transport (Tram) including canal cruise. Fast food outlet (halal kebab) is within 5 mins walk and supermarket within 10 mins. Good breakfast spread to start off your day. The staircase ! Too narrow and steep. Would be a real effort to carry heavy baggage up/down. Do not expect too much from this 2-Star hotel. Need a bit of scrapping/clean-up and new silicon at the shower cubicle.

The staff was very kind. My room was small, but functional. The stairs are very step and there is no lift, so you must be sure that this is not an obstacle for you before booking this hotel. Step stairs are typical in Amsterdam and you can think about them as an attraction of the city (I did). The stairs are very step.

friendly staff and pretty good breakfast No effort to maintain the hotel rooms as far as we could see. Had a room with bathroom. Hole in the wall where toilet feed was located. Multiple cracks in the bathroom sink. Other holes in the wall in the main living area. Terrible old mattresses with little support. Towels were well beyond useful life and rough as sandpaper. For $160 a night didn't expect anything but basic room with basic amenities in a city as expensive as Amsterdam, but did expect the hotel room to be maintained to a minimum standard.

Comfortable hotel. Nothing fancy, nothing dodgy. Clean rooms. Well situated. 15 min walk from the red light district / main train station. 2 min walk from a tram stop. It's a good choice. We paid 118 euros per night which is way too expensive for this hotel. In the most expensive European cities I can get a 4 star hotel for this price (we booked 1 month in advance). The price can be explain by the fact that we stayed in Amsterdam during the ibc conference and all hotels were fully booked during that time. To my mind, 80 euros would be a fare price.

I liked that the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast hours were very flexible, available until 12pm and offered a nice variety - breads/crackers/toast/cereals/fruit/meats/cheese/h- ard boilled eggs/chocolate muffins/brownies/yogurt. It was very very quiet at night, you wouldn't have known you were staying in a city. I suppose I was a bit surprised at how basic the rooms were. I hadn't expected the bathroom to be seperate either, although this wasn't really a problem as you could lock it. The bathroom was very basic, the shower was ok though but the whole room needed a really good clean - I don't think they've heard of scrubbing clean. Don't look behind the radiators, totally clogged with old rubbish and grime! The single beds were very very soft and the sofa bed the children were on was hideous, not only were their feet well above the height of the head, it was incredibly noisy at the slightest movement! Worse though were the very, very lumpy pillows, not one decent pillow in the room - do take your own if like me you depend on a decent pillow for a good nights sleep.
