Hotel Karsten is a renowned hotel, situated at the century-old Brink in the centre of the cosy village of Norg. Norg has been blessed with a lot of natural beauty and does not have any industry. The air is clean, healthy and fresh for that matter. The many country roads, fringed by old wooded banks, invite you to take a brisk walk in a constantly alternating landscape with old forrests, meadows, fields and pools. Hotel Karsten, synonym for quiet, space and hospitality.

Lovely cycling tours over the many paved cycling paths. Around Norg some ten nature resorts and estates (free access) are situated. A trip to the Frisian lakes or the city of Groningen is within reach. Hotel Karsten a conscious choice.

With us you can enjoy a quiet or an active vacation; the choice is yours. A canoo-trip is one of the possibilities, but you can also make a tour by covered wagon or visit a museum. In the vicinity are golf links (9 and 18 holes), an indoor ski-course and various lakes if you want to go windsurfing. Norg has also got its indoor swimming pool.

Food & beverage

Our kitchen is opened from 12:00 to 21:00. We serve an extensive breakfast buffet and at lunch or diner you can choose to either order from the small menu or the à la carte menu. During your meal you can enjoy the selection of our salad buffet.

Room information

All our rooms are fitted with a shower/toilet, hairdryer, television, seating area, terrace or balcony and, if required, an extra long bed. There are 21 hotel rooms, 10 of which are situated on the ground floor.

Area information

The hotel is situated in a beautiful environment for hiking and cycling. Drenthe is, after all, the number one bicycle province of the Netherlands. We are located in the triangle Drenthe-Groningen-Friesland and from Norg you can go on trips to the Frisian lakes or the city Groningen.
This way it's all the more alluring to go sailing for a day or visit the historical, cultural capital.
We recommend visiting the new prison museum in Veenhuizen. Naturally, we have bicycles for rent and free hiking and cycling routes ready for you.
