Price was ok, not very far from center but I would prefer a central one for next. There are hidden costs not mentioned here. They ask 20 euro deposit for keys which was a problem since I usually dont carry much cash and prefer credit cards. Also they ask for luggage storage which is also not fair.

After reading reviews was apprehensive but was good to stay at small traditional hote. The staff were brilliant! Very helpful. Room smart clean and comfortable. Came in late each evening but had own key pass, location easy to find had a very good stay, would go again - much better than corporate hotel. Thanks Kings Hotel

The Hotel was near the centre of Amsterdam and very near some excellent restaurants. Very basic and very expensive for what the hotel provided. I would class it similar to f1 or Etap, so the cost should have been arround 50€ not 84€.

The location was excellent, very friendly and accommodation staff. Dirty room, the entire hotel smelled like old cat pee.. Reception closes at 10pm, also no air conditioning, quite a noisy area. Bathroom is quite small, bed was a bit uncomfortable and we found the previous hotel guests dirty socks on the floor. Cupboard doors wouldn't close, furniture falling apart. Breakfast was just bread and jam/cheese.

The breakfast was quite good for the 2stars hotel. The location is fantastic. Despite it is located in the heart of nightlife, all the noise hides round the corner at the beginning of the street, so nobody disturbs you at night. 15 mins walk from Dam square, 10 mins walk from area of museums, 10 min by train from the railway station. A kettle, coffee, tea in the room. Breakfast lasts just from 8 till 9:30. The reception is closed already at 11 pm. The price is very high for 2 stars hotel.

I ,alonwith my wife stayed in King Hotel, Amsterdam and we got canal facing room.It was a wonderful view from windows and beds were very comfortable. The hotel is situated in central place where all the facilities like Canal boats, buses and trams etc. are in a close vicinity.Hotel staff was very cordial.Service and breakfast was excellent. If I happen to go again to Amsterdam, then I would prefer to stay in the same hotel. The most important thing I would like to share with travellers, is the honesty of this hotel. We checked out on 24th June,11 at 11.am and left the hotel for bus city tour..When my wife came to know after visiting Diamond Factory that her ring is missing in her purse we immediately went back to hotel and madam Rashida at reception searched the room but ring was not found. We returned back to London and sent mail to hotel.I again got message that ring was not found. We left the hope. Then surprisingly I recieved phone call on 26th June Sunday morning, from Mrs.Jyotsna Mehra, of The King hotel, that ring has been found in a vaccume cleaner and will be delievered to me in London through her husband, who is reaching London after two days.Mrs. Mehra took sincere pains in searching this costly diamond ring.I sincerely thank her and all the hotel staff for their honesty.--Rishi & Kamini Vyas, London, 27th June 2011.

Near to town center The room conditions are so poor, also it is not clean enough. The bed is very small, even it is single bed. The design of the room is uncomfortable, and the window is very old. Because it was -10 degree in Amsterdam, all the cold came into the room because of this old windows.

The location of the Hotel was great, 15-20 min walk from the city center on the tram line. The nearest bus-tram stop was just 2 min walking. We liked that the most popular museums (Heineken Experience, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and the park near by them were in walking distance (less then 15 min). In the evenings we could taste a bit of the nightlife in Amsterdam at Leidseplein what actually also 3 min from the Hotel or with a direct tram to the center.. The size of the room was a bit small and the bed was also not really suitable for a young couple.

We liked the location and the soap and hairdryer on the bathroom. The breakfast was poor, the staff were not really happy or friendly and the stairs are just a hazard. There is just no space in some places, like the lift and the toilet on the first floor, I almost couldn't close the door with me inside.

The location was really good, close to all the bars and shops and only a short distance from central station. The lift was the slowest in the world! And the restaurant was quite small.

I dont know where to start....my worst experience ever. Terrible room noisy, humid, old tiny for europe standards, If you had the terrible idea of using the bathroom and the water went through the drain...the smell coming out of it is terrible. Some serios problems with the sewer system. The mattress had some metal pieces coming off in your back. The piillos stinked. I stayed and many budget hotels through europe in my recent trip but this hotel was the worst of all....it shouldnt be called a hotel because it is not. Please stay away from this dump!!

The hotel's location is great and the room I got which was on the top floor, had a skylight window that added a lot of coziness. The breakfast is also good. It was incredibly expensive and considering the premises and condition of the hotel it should be a budget hotel. There are some areas that are quite run down, such as one emergency exit, the elevator and the floor of the room wich had a very dirty carpet. There was also a strong odor of feet inside the room. I also disliked the fact that reception closes from around 11 pm until 9:30 am. In my case, I had a very early morning flight and since there was no one, I had to leave without obtaining my key deposit back. Regardless, it's a great location.

Good location, outside of the red light zone, walking distance to mayor attractions. Breakfast good, but you have to be there early. Hotel Lobby and Hallways smell humid. Hidden costs. You have to leave a deposit for the room key and if you want to leave your bags you have to pay.
