Fascinating wow factor due to the design. The hotel is situated inside of a shell of an old ornate church and monastery. The hotel decor is modern, creating an intriguing blend of old and new at this facility. Ceilings of the restaurant, lobby and bar are of course soaring as one finds in churches...so the public areas, and the small town feeling, with somehwat personal service is nice. Hotel seems pricey for the smallish rooms with very minimum decor...too tight for us.. ALso, the restuarant prices were quite high, especially for breakfast, which was not included. Stayed three nights here when one or two at most would suffice, since Maastrict is a small town of limited attractions....we were visiting the FLoriade flower expo nearby...but that also turned out to be more limited in appeal...one day there was sufficient..So while the hotel is a boutique style with trendy, impactful design, it is not one I would return to..it was fun for once, but too pricey and in a location I would not revisit.. Not for the budget conscious..if you are well off and artsy/architectural, and need this location, go for it..

Very welcoming, efficient, helpful reception and bar staff. In the main, a comfortable, large standard room. Large bathroom and excellent shower. Comfortable bed.Good storage in a walk-in wardrobe. Comfortable, l- shaped sofa. Very good, tasy food. Stunning entrance and interior of a converted monastery. Cost of parking at 30 euro is expensive, but the security of it gives peace of mind. Can only access car park once it's valet parked in company with a staff member. There were roof beams near the bed, which caused problems if you had to get up in the night. Moving the bed to the opposite wall would have solved that, but I suspect there may have been no electrical sockets on that side. A case of design winning over practicality. I have seen comments about the glass doors in the rooms, causing some issues as to privacy. Doors to the toilet and bathroom are opaque glass, so only a 'shadow' can be seen. There is a clear glass door to the room from the entrance corridor. In our room, I could see no point in having a separate toilet off the corridor and then having to open 3 doors (toilet, bedroom, bathroom) and walking through the bedroom to wash your hands. The bathroom was large, and could easily have taken a toilet in there if a single rather than double sink unit had been fitted. We stayed two nights and had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. It was very tasty and well presented, but my main course was only as big as I would expect for a starter. Dessert was excellent too. It's not cheap. The problem was service. We ordered two main courses and one dessert and it took 2 hours 15 mins to complete the meal. The service was extremely slow and I nearly walked out at one point. There were no more than 12 diners at tables while we were in there.

Location is excellent, near center of Maastricht. Valet parking (expensive). Beautiful building, lovingly restored. Room we had this time (6) was somewhat cramped (toilet for example), last time much nicer room (15). Staff very friendly and mostly very competent. Quick service. All in all very pleasant stay. We'll be back. You should not worry about the prices.

The hotel has been refurbish from a 14-century monastery. The lobby reception view of the hotel is beautiful and impressive. Rooms were comfortable and the location is very convenient for those wanting to do some shopping area and experience the gourmet.

An Amazing hotel, History back to the 15th century and the way the hotel has been worked into the old church and monastry is truly remarkable.

the design of the hotel. It had been a monastery. Also the hotel staff were so helpful. One of the best. the glass door in our room was in the way, so I would say the design of our room was strange.

this is our second time staying at this hotel. we are very happy with the service, environment, location and comfort of this hotel. it is recommended. we have got a upgrade this time to a prestige room. loved it. well, it is a perfect hotel but may be in the future, if it has its own spa will be even more perfect. altough it is working with another spa in the city, it is always nice to go back to your hotel room from the spa with a bathrobe. just a simple spa is already enough. a jaccusi, a steam and dry sauna, massage service and a dumble bath or just a cold bucket above your head.

The building is fabulous, from the entranceway and all through the public areas. It's definitely a great place to stay, we loved everything about the decor of the public areas. The breakfast was also excellent. The glass door in some of the rooms is positioned extremely poorly. A fellow traveller had a very unfortunately designed room and crashed into the door on different occasions. The pillows are very hard and housekeeping did not have softer ones available. The bar service is very slow, but all other staff members were excellent (reception, valet and restaurant).

The hotel is in a class of its own as it is an old Church that has been converted to a high standard using the latest design. Everything is to a high standard as well, and the operation of the hotel is very professional. The food is excellent and the chef caters without any problem for a large variety of different diets, I.e. vegetarian, vegan etc. The staff are extremely competent and very friendly. My only regret was the fact that there is not enough wardrobe space if one stays for a longer period of time and has many clothes.

The staff at all levels were superb going out of their way to help. The bedroom whilst large in area was divided up in to sections which were small and inconvenient. Neither of us like a bathroom with glass walls.

We were impressed with the beauty of the entire hotel and how it varied from medieval to ultra modern. We liked the quiet room and the extremely friendly staff. That's more than one thing, I know, but it was a lovely stay. I wrote a comment on TripAdvisor.com if you care to read it.

This hotel is excellent. A stunning conversion of a historic building. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Marvellous breakfast buffet. Very convenient position for a city/shopping trip to Maastricht-just 5 min utes walk from the historic centre. Excellent bathroom and comfortable bed. Just one very minor criticism. There was an unnecessary internal glass door in our room which was a bit of an obstruction unless it was closed -then it was awkward to get to the wardrobe. Looked very nice though!
