Es un sitio original y con historia, con una exposición en el interior sobre la evolución del hotel. Las habitaciones son muy originales y diferentes, sobretodo los baños. Nos gustó descubrir un estante de té y café en medio del pasillo, disponible a todas horas para todos. La ubicación también es muy buena, justo detrás de dos líneas de tranvía y apenas a dos paradas del centro.

Nos cobraron una fianza de 200e. al llegar de la cual no nos informaron en el momento de la reserva y hemos tenido que esperar varios días a que nos la devuelvan. El desayuno es bastante caro y no suele estar incluido.

Es bien, tiene lugares muy lindo como el restaurante o la biblioteca. Esta a dos paradas de tram de la estación central. Muy cerca del tram. La habitación es gigantesca.

Era bastante escalofriante. Tenia unos pasillos que parecen de pelicula de terror. Ojo re aconciciondo todo y demas pero daba miedo. El lugar era un cárcel y luego un loquero... mas tarde fue reciclado y ahora es un hotel de diseño. No tenia caja fuerte y lo mas grave es que tiene la ducha en el medio de la habitación. Literalmente en el medio. Con lo cual se moja el suelo y hay muy poca intimidad. La verdad que no lo recomiendo para primera cita.

Peace and quiet. Understated quality. I would recommend Lloyd's. as you can quickly access popular areas and CS but get away from it at night

Relaxing place to stay just outside the city centre but close to transport links

We had a room with quite a non-standard design: it resembles (intentionally) the previous utilization of this building. In fact, I am not sure this is plus or minus. We like the place where this hotel is situated.

Clean room, 24 hour check-in and easy check out, close to tram and just a few stops from central station.

Very quirky hotel! Fantastic design and so easy to access central Amsterdam on the tram. Would definitely stay here again.

The friendly staff and the charming ,relaxed atmosphere.

The noise . We tried several (4)rooms(4star) ,but until now none of them were quiet, because of the single glass. The hotel is situated near a busy ring road ,rail track and in the w.e. party goers There was water leaking through the windows. Complementary Toiletteries are -

Hi, I finally could not stay in the hotel myself, my guests from Malta however did and were very pleased. I could not enter the hotel due to road works that night, the lady at the reception was friendly, understood the reason of cancellation and also proposed hotels nearby, super service. If I will be visiting Amsterdam, will keep this hotel and its kind staff in mind. Paul

Easy to get to the tram station, Reitlandpark, and quick hop to Centraal Station. Normally like being outside city center since it is quieter and close to the IJ. The beds are extremely comfortable.

This time our room was not made up when we arrived at 3 pm. We had to wait for it to be cleaned. Our room was on the street side and the bars in the area had people leaving around 3 am despite the season (November), so it was very noisy. Would prefer room on higher level or on backside of hotel where it is quieter.

Quirky rooms, really comfy beds and great duvets

Bad service, staff would not serve any drinks in the hotel bar (although it was only 00:30), we had to ring room service and tell them to delivery the drinks to the bar!! Bizzare - no food available on room service a small wine spillage was made in my room, we tried to clean it up with towels. Told the cleaner the following morning, the cleaner told us she had nothing to clean it with!!, I went to a supermarket to purchase some carpet cleaner, cleaned the carpet, it looked as good as new. Without seeing the carpet the manager told the deputy manager to charge me €150. I spent my last 30minutes in the hotel arguing with deputy manager. Would not recommended this place to anyone. Quirky design. Very comfy bed.

Room 4 had a taxi rank right outside the window, very noisy in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Zany, great place, interesting design, great philosophy, good food, easy to get to City and Central Station by number 26 tram. Stayed before in 2009 and came back.

It was all fine - nothing to complain about we were in a one star room which was simple but fine - would love to see a 5 star room!

Unusual surroundings and great restaurant

i liked the public areas, the living room, the breakfast room, the entrance, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel. i also liked the breakfast.

i did not like that i had to stay at a room in the basement, for 144 euro!

Distinctive and friendly

Chaotic breakfast. V poor value for the high price charged. Will not eat there again for breakfast.

The staffs are very-very nice people and always ready to assist.

The room was located in the basement right next to a busy street. Even during the night with windows closed it was virtually impossible to close an eye.

Just the location

I got a noisy room, cause there is a club across the street. Noisy all the night till 4:00AM. I think the problem is always exist. But the staff still gave us the awful one. If we didn't do any thing about this situation, I'll get a terrible vacation.BTW there is no toilet paper one night........and my friend ask the staff a bowl of hot water.. he said : what will you pay for!!!!!!!!!!!!..how about this service.... I wonder if the hotel serve the worst room to people they got sale price on internet. Although the staff change the room for us, we still felt bad. At least I will not book this hotel ever and never.

The bed was very big and very comfortable. Staff and security seemed good. All in all, a good place to sleep, if that is all you want.

Did this place used to be a mental asylum? Walking into our room, was a bit of a shock. It looked to me, more like the ex-janitors closet or staff kitchen, rather than a cosy room for 2. I'm not sure if what they were going for was 'contemporary' or something, but it didn't work for me. The room was large and there was bare minimum in there. A large white bed, sink, cupboard attached to the wall and a hospital-looking set of table and chairs. The shower was like a wet-room...were we in a disabled access room? I'm not sure. We weren't told that we were, so I have to assume that this is what all of the rooms look like. The place was fine to sleep in, but not what I expected of a little romantic getaway.

It is so interesting and different with a great mix of people making it all very relaxed.

Being in a room below ground level - in a dungeon! Too dark and gloomy so needed more lighting than the low-energy bulbs gave. No pole in room 1 to open or close window and even even open, ventilation.
