Great location, 5mins to Amsterdam Central station. Free Wifi coverage (weak signal at 2nd floor). Friendly hostel staff. Old and smelly furniture, blood on the bed, footprint on the wall (in my room), couldn't turn off the fans in the toilet, means it was very noisy at night. They charge more than €70 per night, and they call it a 3 star hotel, for me, it is a 3 star hotel price but a hostel standard. Try not to stay there if you don't mind the location.

The bar staff in the evening was great - real Amsterdamer with great information. The location is fantastic. The day staff are a little slow and I would not have paid full-price for a room there. The room was clean but not somewhere you'd want to spend any time in. The bathroom was tiny

Close to Amsterdam Centraal and Red lights street, lots of "coffe shops" Dirty, cold, bad bathroom, 2 small ovens to warm the room. Our windows were loooking to another hotel, just 2m distance. Wireless signal wasn't strengh enough to reach our room. We stayed here because we missed our train. Never stay in this hotel, you always can find better options for this money.

Location ------- thats it!!!!!! This hotel is Grotsville and is not even worthy of 'Poor' Status!!! I really think that Amsterdam hotels in general aren't good but this really does take it to a whole other level.... By standard I mean. This realy has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in....... Please, please, please, please take heed and don't be staying here... The price was far too high for what you get; mind you I don't even think that its worth £10 per night.... Nothing works, basis rooms, no left luggage facility and the staff are rude. Not to mention overcharging for extra bed!!! The room was the size of a tuna can and you have to do the robot to turn round in the bathroom. Worst ever.... Supposed to be 3 star... More like 3 cockroach; sorry half a cockroach!!!!!!

The location alone was the only real thing we liked, but I'm sure in the summertime its fantastic as they would not need heating. I don't normally write reviews but I hope this helps prevent others from making the same mistake. Hotel is Freezing The rooms are very badly maintained with no tea, coffee facilities.

The hotel was a fantastic location to get involved in the Amsterdam culture... If thats what you are looking for it doesn't really get better than this.. If you want 5stars then go to a 5star on the outskirts and spend have your day traveling back and forth to the hotel... If you want to get involved like we did then the Luxer exceeds its 3star rating... The staff were a great laugh, friendly and helpfull even with the somewhat worse for wear guests who had maybe enjoyed the culture a little too much... Cannot fault this hotel.. even the drinks were reasonably priced...

The hotel was great, clean and comfortable. the staff VERY very helpful indeed. Did not have b'fast at hotel as just across the road there's a very beautiful cafe where you can have english b'fast for around €10. Don't expect a big room but what makes this hotel so advantageous is that it's almost first hotel you'll stumble upon once you get out of train station. Close to red light and dam square and most importantly the train station. If i had to return i'd surely want to stay there again. The receptionist told me that now they're planning on refurbishing the hotel so will probably get even better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, with lcd tv and the shower was nice and powerful. For a late check out, you have to pay 30 euros per hour !!!

Location..close to Central Station.. Man at front desk was very knowledgeable helpful and friendly.. However the breakfast was cold, the bacon was almost pure undercooked fat, and cold. The cook / breakfast attendant lady was positively rude and unwelcoming.. She complained that I could not speak Dutch!!

The place, the atmosphere, the quality/price ratio. 1. The noise in the morning cause the room on the was juste near the breakfast room. 2. The humid area in the room cause it was on the ground floor.

Hotel was old and room looked dirty. View was of a rubbish dump. Walls looked dirty. Our keycards didnt work on several occasions. Didnt like how I was charges city tax on my card without being advised by booking.com. Had booked a room for three people, was a double bed and a camp bed.
