Location is nice, walking distance to museam, shopping and even historical center of Amsterdam. Hardly fits to 4 stars service and accomodation( good 3 stars).Hotel is under outside renovation,so windows and balcony is covered by construction strucures and net. No information about the deal and no discount. Hotel noticed to the bank for authorisation the sum of one night stay at date of booking( month before entry).

Good staff Small room ,unable to open window I was annoyed to be charged for bottle of Vittel which was left on side as is normal for free bottle. If you charge for water then it should be in the minibar then it is clearly not free. This annoyed me as a piece of mean penny pinching and is the sort of thing that will stop me booking your hotel again

Cleanliness and courtiousness of staff. I have stayed at less expensive hotels in Amsterdam where all the extras, such as breakfast and Wi-Fi, are included. At this hotel, all the extras cost extra and significantly so. 7 Euros for one hour of Wi-Fi......excessive!

The location, in my view, can't be beat. The hotel is within two blocks of Museum Square, where the Van Gogh Museum and the Rejkmuseum are located. A visit to these two museums is often on visitors' to- do list because they contain the paintings of the Dutch masters. In the other direction one can find a number of cafes and high end stores (Chanel, Armani). A ten minute walk away is the Spiegelstraacht which has a number of great antique stores. The street on which the hotel is located is very pleasant with a number of other houses and small hotels featuring very attractive entrances in the Art Nouveau style. I stayed one night in a standard room and one night in a double. Be prepared - as with many hotels in historic buildings, the rooms are very small. The standard room was little bigger than a train compartment. The bathroom had no self-contained shower (ie, the floor of the bathroom is the floor of the shower). The double room was more comfortable, particularly the bathroom which had a shower well, but the double bed still took up most of the walking space in the room. I suggest the hotel staff pay attention to the lobby furniture. It could use a good cleaning or upgrade to new furniture. The arm rests of the chairs are dark with grime.

The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We had a lovely corner room with a great bathroom. The location was excellent - just around the corner from the Van Gogh Museum and for those who shop, upmarket retail also around the corner. The pillows were way too soft! The internet was too expensive and poor reception - signal kept cutting out.

We chose the Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken, for a 3 night stay, based on a long list of positive reviews on Trip Advisor. These suggested great staff, fantastic location a lovely hotel even if some of the rooms and bathrooms were considered small. What can I say, the staff are fantastic, we arrived late morning to drop of cases to find we had an upgraded ‘larger’ room and it was ready. Room {302} was spacious with big bathroom only complaint was double bed is two large singles pushed together with two separate quilts; not ideal but not an issue in reality. The Breakfast is pretty standard but very good, the bar snacks are very limited and for us to be avoided. We were not planning to visit any of the museums so at first we thought location might be a little far out. However the trams {2 & 5} run just at the end of the road and get you all the way to Dam and the Central Station within 15 minutes. Added advantage was the 197 bus also stops at the end of the road so getting back to the airport was 30 minutes. Shopping is all top class in this area, we did plenty of window shopping!. There are plenty of great restaurants as well. All in all fantastic and definitely recommended.

The room was kept to a very clean standard every day, however the tv was old and the reception wasn't too good. The staff were friendly and spoke good English when helping with any problems or directions around the town. They do not give free wifi.

The staff were very friendly and helpful Clean and spotless room The massage chair in the spa room was not very good (it was only vibrating, not massaging so there was really not point relaxing on it) and the steam room was a bit disappointing too (the steam ran for a few minutes and when it was switched off and we wanted to use it again, the power button was not working). The jaccuzi was amazing though but still not a good value for 35.00 EUR. Twin beds on wheels

Is well located, on a quiet street in the less touristic centre. The lobby and bar are nice, and the staff is excellent The room was somewhat too small, and I did not like the bed arrangement: huge fat pillows with no opportunity to change for smaller ones, and extremely hot blankets, not necessary because the heating was perfect.

Lovely hotel, good size room and bathroom with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We love the Leidersplein area for restaurants and night lfe so this hotel was the ideal location. Most hotels I have stayed in provide a bottle of drinking water at no cost, this hotel charges 5 euros for a small bottle.

The staff at reception were always friendly and helpful. We requested adjoining or adjacent rooms. In order to accommodate our wish they kindly upgraded one of the rooms. However, unfortunately Housekeeping was not consistent and let the side down a little, the first morning we forgot to put the Do Not Disturb sign on the room door and had a heavy loud pounding at 8:15am for room cleaning! The second morning our other room forgot to have the sign out and again had the very early loud pounding on their door. Our rooms were on the first floor facing the hotel entrance and every pedestrian footstep and conversation could be heard....in the early hours of the morning. We would stay again requesting higher floors or facing the back, as the location was perfect. Next to the Van Gogh Museum, Rjyks Museum, Diamond Museum and the No.2 And 5 tram direct to Central Station.

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. The location is excellent. Trams are outside and you can easily walk into the centre of Amsterdam. The staff are delightful and atmosphere friendly. The rooms are, as with many Dutch hotel rooms, not on the vast side. However, they do have a neat dash of design with a dash of traditional. The lounge is comfortable as is the bar. What more can I say. Good value for money and highly recommend. Wendy UK

It's centrally located. The room was too dark. The breakfast was nothing special. There hotel does not offer dry-clean services. The room (or perhaps the entire hotel) should be refurbished to modern standards.
