Sandton Malie Hotel (桑顿酒店)    

I was charged double for my breakfast 32 euros I didn't spot this until later in the day. They knew i stayed for one night so i am very disappointed that they didn't notice this - i would like a rebate as i paid by credit card - can you help?

Quiet neighbourhood, close enough to the city centre (~10 minute walk). Reasonably priced for a 'basic' four star hotel. Bikes available for rent at the hotel.

All or nothing heating: either extremely hot or cold.

Very friendly, helpful staff; hotel is small, corresponds very well with surroundings, it's coisy; nice lobby - seating there you can feel like in the living room of typical Dutch apartment

No hotel restaurant, no mini bar in a room

Very welcoming, friendly and helpfull reception staff. This was our second stay at this hotel and we had a nice room on the first floor. The location was ideal for us as it was in a quiet area on the outskirts of town but a 20 minute walk got us into the centre of Utrecht.

Parking can be a problem if you want a space in the street outside the hotel as it is very busy at certain times of the day.

Last week I was over for business & decided to stop in Utrecht. The suggested business hotel was fully booked so I opted for the Sandton Malie. I really would not recommend this hotel for future colleagues as there was quite a few issues with my room & the bathroom was not clean enough in terms of the shower area. I even changed rooms, due to maintenance issues.

Friendly staff made us feel at home! Comfortable room. Location is in a very pleasant a quiet part of the city.

The hotel staff could not have been more helpful/polite not that I was in any way demanding.

The hotel was a little bit far out from Central Train Station, about a 15-20 minute brisk walk to be exact having said that it's location therefore lent itself to being peripheral to the City and consistent with the positioning, quiet. There were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

This was my third time at the Malie, and I will be back. Partly that's because it is quite convenient for University College Utrecht, where my son's studying, but also because I like the friendly staff, the quiet location, the possibility of eating breakfast in the garden, the light and airy lounge with the big book case at the front of the hotel, the quality of the coffee at breakfast, and the general feel of the place. It also seems good value for money - especially if you get a rate that includes breakfast.

The hotel lift (elevator) is a little scary. It would be nice if they could stop it lurching! I don't understand why breakfast is sometimes included in the room rate and sometimes not. In the latter case it seems expensive. It took us a while to work out how to make the air conditioning work, and it took the air conditioning a while to get to grips with the very hot weather.

It's a very nice and elegant hotel, cosy I may say.

Situated in a quiet locaion. A traditioinal dutch style building, very well maintained and appointed.

No tea or coffee facility in the room which should be provided in a delux room. A information folder in the room woulld be useful. Enough bicycles to rent for all guests as to walk to the centre of utrecht takes 20mins by foot.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel in general, furnished with good taste, good quality for the price. Very good location, nice neighbourhood. The room was very comfortable, nice and clean (although it was the cheapest one available) and the breakfast excellent.

Everything was great, except that it would be really nice to have a high chair for babies in the restaurant (there was only a plastic cushion kind of thing to put on a proper chair, which is not suitable for small children).

We are three older ladies visiting our friends in Utrecht, Amsterdam and 2012 Floriade. The stuff at the hotel was really nice and friendly. We enjoyed the accommodation and breakfast was good also.

Hotel is nice, but room was smaller then we have expected.

We liked the welcoming atmosphere & helpfulness of the staff. The location is also a quiet part of the city making it very relaxed. Recommending it highly to family heading to Utrecht for weekend trips & will also return again.
