Location, a very nice atmosphere of an old city hotel, clean and cosy, friendly staff

The rooms a bit poorly furnished, but it is worth the cost of the stay

Restaurant was good - limited range for vegetarians but the individual cheese fondue made a lovely change from the standard lasagne/chilli options. Very nice lounge/bar area.

Bathroom was small for a three-bedded room.

Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Our baby got baby bed and she liked it a lot. Atmosphere is good and rooms are clean and silent. For breakfast they have also baby chairs.

No smoking rooms on higher floor - you have to go outside.

The location is excellent as it is on walk distance in the city centre. The rooms are small but good value for money

Very small room not as showed at the website. Lack of info regarding open time for breakfast or/and any other info regarding the hotel/city. No coffee/thee possibility in the room

Really nice staff. Had dinner in the bar delivered from the adjoining restaurant and the meal was plentiful, tasty and well presented. Room was comfy and clean.

Parking overnight on a Saturday was 23euro which is a bit pricey but not the hotels fault of course. I think the room rate should have included at least coffee in the morning.

Close to the Centre.

Mildly annoying the television didn't work and staff couldn't get it operational. Fortunately saved by the free internet service provided. Breakfast cost expensive.

I liked it's location

The rather nice decor downstairs gives a misleading impression about the actual rooms which are tiny and box like. Only really suitable for a one or two night stay.

The location close to the city centre.

The rooms have not changed in 20 years. Very basic. Single glas windows. Heating was working but no way for regulating the temperature. There was a small, very simple desk, there was no room to put the chair in front of the desk. Very simple/ basic breakfast. The WiFi was extremely slow.

Location and cleanliness of hotel were the only two things going for it.

No hairdryer in room. No tea or coffee-making facilities within the room or adjacent corridor. No welcome/info pack within the room to provide hotel or local information. Tiny bathroom. Perhaps this is to be expected from a 2 star hotel, however considering the price for a night's stay (£75.18 for a twin room) I was very disappointed with the standard provided and the general lack of facilities. Unfortunately there is a severe lack of decent priced hotels in the Netherlands (perhaps I have been spoilt with Ibis, Premier Inn and Holiday Inn's in the UK).

The hotel is very central so easy to visit sights and city centre Staff friendly and helpful Very nice breakfast - good choice of food and freshly squeezed orange juice. Room was clean

The room was very basic and small. There was only just enough space to walk around the beds. The shower gel provided in a dispenser attached to the wall smelt like washing up liquid - very unpleasant.

The Martini Hotel is a well run, clean and well located Hotel for a stay in the North of Holland, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The Hotel accommodation and facilities are excellent. The resturant and bar facilities are excellent as are the fare and drinks, and all resonably priced. The hotels location is ideal for getting to the town centre and surrounding area. I have stayed in a number of Hotels in Groningen but always come back to the Martini. Keep up the good work folks, and thank you again for a great and comfortable stay. CGB

The breakfast ok, the room: mmm What i did really dislike is that you have to ask for the free wifi: just give it to every guest and the total lack of quality of the free wifi.

Very helful and friendly English-speaking staff; good food; confortable room and an excellent location in Groningen. We were settling one of our daughters into the university and will use the Martinini again when we visit over the next few years. Thank you.

Do not go for the basic room go for comfort room only, they are much more modern and clean. The basic room was awful changed to the comfort range. Superb town position with parking.

friendly staff, knowledgable on where things were in the town.

My room was placed at the front, unfortunately it stayed noisy till very late in the busy street. It was summer and all the restaurants and bars had outside seating, later it was drunk people noisily making their way home. My companion's room was placed at the back and had an undisturbed night.
