Lovely room, with comfortable bed and large desk; and a decent-size bath with powerful shower as well. Can't ask for anything more. It's a bit of a walk to find a decent place to eat. |

Our room was large, beatifully decorated and reasonably priced. The hotel is in a residential area that was very quiet, but with stores and restaurants nearby. Breakfast is available in the hotel, but if you prefer, there is a coffe shop just down the street. The tram passed right by the hotel and you can take the tram direct to the central train station without changes. |

The comfort and cleanliness of the room was fantastic it was a small room a good bit from the centre and was fairly expensive for a hotel that was so far away eg went looking for a shop at 7-8 o clock and would have to walk bout an hour before finding one,. I felt the website gave you a false impression of the distance from the centre |

Nice hotel in a good location reasonably convenient to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. Hotel was clean and neat with nice rooms and a lift. Room price seemed competitive with other alternatives, but we chose not to avail ourselves of the breakfast at 17.50 euros each. Parking was not quite as stated on the Booking.com site. Site said nearby at 20 euros per night. To park nearby actually cost 27 euros per night although a cheaper alternative was offered but it was at least a five to ten minute drive away. Walking back would have taken a lot longer. |

It's not a 4 stars hotel at all. They didn't have the package I've contract prepared, a lot of problems to be solved. They tried to trick me with the dinner, we stayed two nights and they said that dinner was just for one night. They didn't know where to park and I had to find out everything. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. Staff, they couldn't solve anything. They didn't have information or power of decission to find a solution. I had to pay the travel tickets I've told they were going to give me. They couldn't give me an invoice for the company I was travel for, because the bedroom check out was made, they just gave me a Pro Forma invoice (useless). |

The bed was really comfortable. The hotel was situated in a good place with a nice walk through the vondlepark on the way to the main part at the end. Not too far away from the centre of Amsterdam either. The hotel was quiet if the window was shut but the traffic was quite constant. The traffic was a small problem but not too bad. Not enough tea and coffee in room, we ended up buying our own. Also they were meant to replenish the water in the minibar everyday but didnt. There was only water in the minibar! |

The Memphis Hotel was quiet and clean. It was conveniently located between two tram lines so travel into the city center was easy. Free wireless access from my room was great. The four star rating is quite misleading as there are few services and nothing special about the hotel's decor and comfort. I found the staff to be surprisingly unhelpful and at times, ignorant of the area neighborhood. They were not friendly and forthcoming about directions, food services, bike rental. There's no room service--only a cafe that closes early, and a basement vending machine that was out-of-order. I saw one man ask if they changed money and he was simply told no. There were no suggested options given. I wanted to rent a bike and ride it to my conference to another part of town, but there were no maps available to help me plan my route. I couldn't rent one for an hour to get oriented beforehand either. |

Comfortable bed and pillows. Strong shower. The hotel was being refurbished which I was not aware of, however it did not effect me as I was up early every morning anyway. |
