The breakfast Very dark curtains Nice view
Staff were excellent. Breakfast was great. modern facilities. Good value.
Outside of CD but close to transport and highways.
Good sized well equiped room
They can get away with over-charging for breakfast as there is no possibility to eat for miles around. The policy of processing a 50 euro charge on credit cards for possible extras leaving the customer to monitor the refund in their statements means I will never be back in this hotel.
The location of the hotel is not central, but the metro station is very close. The room is comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and we used the offer "one for two"
The breakfast and beds were good
The rooms are very basic for value and we upgraded
there was a metro station from 5 minute walking from the hotel,
I would like to see an arrangement for a shuttle bus to the metro and most important is a shuttelbus to and from Schiphol !
Easy travel to centraal station.
Further out of the city than expected. In financial district.
clean, good view, good facilities, friendly staff
I was charged extra than I should pay, though the hotel promise to refund the money, but no explanation was given why this extra money was mis-charged in the first place. No slippers were offered, hair dryer wasn't functioning, and no spare slipper and hair dryer were available.
clean and spatious room
distance from public transport, price ie. value for money.
as this is my 5 th stay in your Hotel it will speak for itself that I am very happy with all the services of the Mercure aan de Amstel. I be back again in march 2015 and looking forwards to my 10 day stay again! Thank you!
That the poor staff of the breakfast room have no clearing stations for the crockery etc they have to run up and down with heavy laden trays delaying their work! clearing trollies would be the answer and I am sure your exelent staff would thank the mannagement for this more modern and sufficient way of dealing with their work!!
The closest metro station is Overamstel, so you can get in to the centre quite fast. Nice place to stay.
Surrounded with storehouses. Breakfast cost 22.50 per person.
We had a fantastic time at your hotel. The breakfast was great, bed was huge and very comfortable and staff really helpful.
The shower door leaked a lot so the bath mat ended up soaking after every use.
Comfortable hotel and good price for Amsterdam. Easy access to Amsterdam central via the metro. Surrounding area was quiet (the hotel is not in central Amsterdam).
Long wait to check in (at midday) - guests checking out were given priority despite us waiting in line. Confusion over the city tax (supposed to be included in the prepaid room but it was not, we had to pay on departure which was not expected). Hotel restaurant had limited options. The hotel attracts big tour groups which may not appeal to some. The area was a little seedy and night walking back from the metro. The hotel also held onto credit card advances for incidentals for over 2 weeks after check out despite the account being settled on departure.
furniture comfort location
Great food, helpful staff, very good value
Not just so handy for town
Wonderful hotel but much too far from the centre of the city. The hotel himself is very very nice. Clean, comfortable, great staff. ....
Distance from The heart of the city
Located outside Amsterdam with large parking area, next to main auto routes (without the noise), Metro is just around the corner (5 min walk) which takes you to the heart of Amsterdam in only 10 minutes, Modern, comfortable rooms, clean bathroom with all facilities.
- The room was clean, although we found a (black) sock just under the bed on the black carpet... Cleaning staff must have missed that one... - Waiting queue at reception desk was sometimes too long. At peak moments, only one out of three desks was open. - Although we announced an early arrival in advance, there is no exception made on early room availability: you can't go to the room before 14pm.
The Bed is large and comfort. It is not too soft, so gives me better sleeping at night. The room is small but clean and it has water boiler. The lounge bar is nice and offers special Cocktails. The staffs are also very nice.
the water drains slowly in the shower place in my room. The breakfast is not worth the price. The location is nice when you travel by car, but too far for going to the city center.
The hotel lounge was very nice. Also, the garden cafe by the Amstel river. I also liked the nice design of the hotel.Last but not least, it is close to the metro station.
It takes a lot of time to check in. Long queues. There were only 3 hotel employees behind the reception desk. For such a big hotel, there should have been more.
Good service 2 for 1 breakfast
Expensive Other guests
Quiet location. Metro 10 min walk.
The room was ideal for us
You call yourselves a city hotel yet you are several kilometers outside the city. not on any main transport route into the city. This should be made clear.
Great breakfast, quiet neighborhood , room very clean
Line long for checking in
Stunning location, very clean hotel, lovely, polite staff. The rooms are gorgeous, comfy beds, amazing breakfast! Will 100% be booking to visit this hotel again!
Extremely helpful staff at the front desk.. they go all out to help you.. if it takes time for your turn do wait... casue they wud give as much attention to your issues as they wud for all others.. location is a little away from the center of amsterdam.. however the day pass ( 7.5 euro ) is sold at the hotel.. and the Metro station Overamstel is just 10 - 15 mins walk.. and from there you can reach Central station in 15 minutes..
nothing to complaint..
