Mercure Hotel Groningen Martiniplaza  

Hotel was comfortable and easy to locate from motorway. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was good and room was fine. Easy to get into the city centre and bikes were available to get out and about.

Comfortable, modernised, well-located. Good choice of regular TV channels.

Many free places at tables for breakfast first day, but all covered with dirty plates and dishes. Had no breakfast on any day because of this. Very disappointing lack of visible staff for a hotel chain like Accor. Parking expensive.

Good location if you travel with car wifi speed was high; room was clean; bankets from hotel entrance a good idea.

1- park capacity too low ; it was full overnight and I couldnt park my car; 2- the cranes of shower were too compli'cate; atention when you use for 1st time 3- there was none heater on airco; mornings the room was cold.

Perfect for the business traveller

The parking is free and convenient. The Internet is free. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is good and the tracfic in this area is quite convenient.

The air condition is a bit too loud.

Our room was very nicely designed as was the bathroom area.

I think that the staff could have been a wee bit more friendly and welcoming.

This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is good, but they serve huge portions. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

The Superior room is the exact same as the standard room, except for additionals things like a robe and slippers and some (Dutch) magazines. Not worth paying the extra in my opinion. Prices fluctuate wildly from week to week it seems.

The upgrade to a suite!!

Check in was not satisfactory - staff most unhelpful. Room booked not ready- we were early so went away and came back to be told another hour!! Not many choices in Groningen!

Rooms very clean and comfortable, though double beds much more comfortable than single beds. Staff very friendly. Food good in restaurant though portions are huge!

It's a shame that the restaurant stops serving food at 9:30 pm and then Room service stops at 10:00 pm - after a long journey and arriving at 10pm on a Sunday night, the only food option was a dated sandwich from a fridge in reception or a chocolate bar. Also the breakfast is a little disappointing.

We like: atmosphere, staff, servicing, breakfast was very good - delicious and at good time - till 10:00 a.m. The hotel is near the center. I walked on food. One of the most important thing - air conditioning system is perfect!!! I was not having health problem with mine nose. Me and my husband are relly pleased staying at this hotel. Free car parking is a great ++++. The special offer about the price via Booking.com is a great +++++, too. If we have a need to be in Groningen again, we will choose Mercury hotel ! the hotel is very convinient, easy to find, near the motorway. very good breakfast and restaurant is also very good quality. appreciate very much free bike rent.

due the location near the motorway the rooms with the windows to the motorway are quiet noisy. I was very disspointed that it was not possible to hire also child seat to the bike. Even pay service would be appreciated. Room is very good size, but the staff didn´t want to allow us to stay two adults and 3 years old child in one room. We solved it but it cost us very upleasant conversation.
