눉I had booked 2 superior rooms for 4 adults. When we checked in, the desk made a point of checking our friends in first and then us. We found out (late that evening) that our friends had been allocated a 'comfort' room - half the size of the one booked. I took this up with the receptionist who confirmed the room was not of the standard booked but said there was nothing she could do as they were fully booked. There was no real apology or particular effort made to put things right. She did suggest they could move the following day, but would effectively have to check-out and check-in again (adhering to the normal times for both). This would have meant us hanging around most of the day. I asked what the price adjustment would be and was met with a shrug and advised I would need to speak to the manager the next morning. It was a very disappointing way to spend the first evening and I was very embarrassed that our friends had been given a substantially lesser room. Had the hotel been honest at the time of check-in, I would have been happy to accept the comfort room at the appropriate price difference. The final small reduction in overall booking price in no way reflected the significant difference in accommodation. The superior room was of a good size but the shower and toilet are actually within the bedroom with only a flimsy glass door to separate them - so not at all private. There is dedicated hotel parking in the town underground car park which can be accessed from within the hotel, but there is very little information given in advance about this - i.e. when you need it most!
눇The hotel is a former convent and there is a nice, tranquil, feel to it. The location is good and the breakfast was very nice indeed.
