Well appointed boutique hotel in the ideal location just one minute walk from the main square with cafes etc. Breakfast is of the highest standard.
Oddly enough the pillows were a bit strange, but not enough to push someone away from the hotel.
Good location just off the market square of Sittard. They do a very good breakfast with omelettes cooked to order. The underground car park means you stay dry walking to the hotel when it's raining.
The room was very small with barely any room to walk around the bed. The room was quite tatty and the shower just floods the bathroom. The window was locked shut so it was not possible to get any fresh air. I do not appreciate listening to the room upstairs flushing their toilet. There really is nothing to do at the hotel. The car park is very expensive Euro10/night whilst street parking is free overnight. Overall it does not give value for money.
The location was quiet but within 2 min walk to Sittard Square. The rooms were modern, very clean and stylish.
The hotel was pricey compared to others we stayed in and there was no tea making facilities. Luckily we brought our own tea but had to boil the water in the coffee machine. Not a problem, just an inconvenience and not expected for €150 per night.
Warm welcome and beautiful rooms. A really lovely hotel. I am going to make a small negative comment, but at the end of the day our stay was almost perfect.
The noise of other people's showers at night.
De servicegerichte houding van de medewerkers
The ambiance of an old cloister with impressive staircase. Also the garden was very pleasant.
The lack of city views promised on the web.
Staff is not really guest oriented. Apart from the trouble booking the room: extra bed possible, not possible, oh yes, it is possible but in other room...where in fact there is a fixed 3rd bed, not a rollaway, so they make you pay the higher cost of the room plús the extra bed; staff is not what you would expect of a 4 star.
the best hotel in town
No restuarant- but sister hotel one was good
The whole atmosphere, and the restaurants staff level of attentiveness, particularly the chef, who came out specifically when he'd finished his work to see how we'd enjoyed the food. He made jus feel special, and cooked up some amazing food !
Limited options for cooked breakfast - no sausage or bacon etc. Otherwise, fine!
the atmoshere and the friendliness of the staff. plus the parking next/below the hotel.
stay was too short... :-)
Excellent service and the restaurant was really good. Convenient underground parking, too.
Nice breakfast, very good wifi, good location, car park
Yoy had to ask a ticket to the car park each time you wanted to use your car, not just once as indicated.
- Location - Nice design - free wifi
- Complicated Parking - Breakfast
The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very clean. The room was a really good size and very comfortable. The central location of the hotel gives easy access to restuarants and bars.
- Great location if looking for a getaway out of citytrip / usual standard hotel rooms - Unusual hotel in former monastery, fairly new, and with design rooms - Nice complete, and healthy, breakfast
- We've been to this hotel three times and the comfort of the room really depends on the room that you get (size of the room, bathroom, windows and view, etc). However, it stays above average in all cases.
The friendly staff, the location, the atmosphere, the decoration, the building. I received an upgrade because I checked in in the morning and my room was not ready yet!
The windows could not be opened (or did not I try hard enough?) The sheets seemed synthetic... well, I sweated during the night.
I have spent 4 nights in Sittard. The hotel is clean, and comfort. The room was big enough for couples and one child. Breakfast was perfect. I do recommend this hotel to anyone intend to stay in Sittard.
The location, since you will face a difficulty to find the hotel by the GPS, I discovered later that the hotel is new and most new GPSs will not detect its location. Also the way to the hotel is passing into a dark way, I don't realy like to walk at night! Finally, I don't like the room view, it was not exciting.
Great staff, great design. Excellent to relax after a long working day!
I loved everything about it. Peace & tranquillity. Smiley people who want to help you. I have stayed in many, many hotels and so many countries - and Merici is perfect for a quiet few days. I shall come again.
Very stylish hotel in the historic centre of Sittard. Extremely comfortable bed in a spacious room. Very friendly and helpful staff who recommended the excellent Wine & Dine restaurant for food.
No directions to parking garage on Booking.com or hotel website. The street entrance is outside the old town and connected to the hotel by a tunnel.
Lovely, quiet place in the middle of the historical centre of Sittard.
The glass doors in the bathroom. Pillows too hard!
