Despite of the fact the the room fee was fully paid in advance, the hotel charged my credit card for additional 150 euros as a guarantee for the unknown possible expenses. Today is the fifth day as we left the hotel and there is not the guarantee returned to my credit card account yet!

Going into the city Minute room in basement with inadequate space for 2 people. Double bed took up most of the room space. Luggage had to be opened on bed as nowhere to use any other space. Complained for 3 days about the sewage smell - nothing done about it. Possibly the worst developed world hotel I have stayed in. Have only known 3 worse hotels and they were in 3rd world countries - I have stayed in 70 countries so do have knowledge of hotels. This hotel should not be on Best Western's list or yours.

There was nothing, I can think of. The hotel was an absolute disgrace for any paying customer. No Service, rooms were of poor standard, not clean and the bathroom a joke. Just too small and I feel strongly, that booking.com accepts hotel like this in their system.

- Central location, comfortable bed, good breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff Small rooms, poorly insulated - you could hear neighbors partying, breakfast not included, lighting was poor - the lights were either all on or off, the night table lights were too dim to be functional, the bathroom door was made out of glass, so when the lights were on in the bathroom, it may bother the other person in the room.

Location is excellent. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful; we booked a standard double room (which is quite small, but usual for Amsterdam), but the receptionist was very nice to give us a deluxe room (bigger and very light, with a great view facing the canal). The breakfast was ok. Wifi internet connection was free and ok during most of our stay. The rooms may be cleaner. The room was facing the canal, so it was a little bit noisy (but the view compensated for the noise :-) ). There was no elevator for the room we stayed in (2nd floor) - it seems that some parts of the building have elevator, but others don'T. The stairs were very steep and narrow, so it was difficult to carry the baggage up and down the stairs. Bathrooms are very small and have an opaque glass door, so there is no much privacy.

The location of the Hotel was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were clean and tidy and bathrooms were very good.good value for money! Disappointed with the initial room we were given which was an "apartment" a few doors down from the hotel, very small and with steep stairs to climb to get to our room. We also felt isolated from the main hotel and facilities so asked to be moved. The staff were very good and moved us on night two to a room in the main hotel. Other than this no complaints.

Good location for shopping and site seeing The initial room we were offered was in desperate need of repainting the walls were badly scuffed by suitcase rubbings and the twin room was no bigger than a single should have been.Had to upgrade to get anything like the amount of space we considered satisfactory for the price.

I was given a basement room on the "-1" floor which I had read some negative guest reviews about on the Booking.com website. However, I found the room to be more than large enough for one person. It was nicely designed, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a walk- in shower. The reception staff were always very friendly and had a smile on their face. There was good access to trams and the hotel was a few mins from the Rijksmuseum. I couldn't take the lift down to my room for some reason so I would always have to walk through the dining area/bar and it was a bit inconvenient as my room was fairly far away from the hotel entrance.

Convenience and close to trams and city centre. Located on bottom floor next to the road. It was very noisy. On the last monring they started collecting rubbish containers outside our window from 05h30 to 08h00 which basically destroyed any good feeling for this hotel.

Very close to Rijksmuseum Even the reduced price is much too high for what you get. The room I had was smaller than a shoebox, the bathroom (bath corner, rather) was so tiny you had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower, and you could not even wash your face at the sink without splashing water all over the place (and yourself).

It is very central We saw we had tea and coffee making facilities in the room and there were none. No mini-bar. The room (318) needed a paint job.

Breakfast, variety and good. They gave us a room in the S -1, which was a bit narrow, but especially noisy. In this -S1 floor is located the laundry room y other machines, and the workers usually start at 4.30 am, dragging carts full of towels, sheets and things like that along the ground etc.

Stayed there after a 26 hour flight to join up with a cruise. Had a day and a half stay there and just looked around the sights of Amsterdam city. Very convenient but quiet. Just away from the centre of the city.

close to all the museums, shops, resturants and bars. canal cruises just across the road. The paradiso concert hall is in the next street, I went to a concert there it was great. I thought the bathrooms were a little bit small, I'm slim but I think any one on the larger side would struggle to use the loo and shower.

Great location; clean; friendly; free internet computers available in foyer. Noise from street throughout the night; a/c didn't cool room very well (hence window needed to be open); very sparse furniture in room; no fridge / minibar; shower / wet room not well designed (water comes all over floor); didn't get Best Western points due to booking with "Booking.com", which wasn't made clear on booking.
